Where do i say it was flawless? oh i didnt i said to believe people dont lie is naive. Blizzard has the actual data not you,not i, so how can we actually believe what is said if we have no data.
Ah so you do agree that they can ban people who are not at fault at all? Like OP. Glad we cleared that up.
That would mean Blizzard is 100% trustworthy with their actions (they are not) and you admitted yourself they are not flawless in their process. I am also not defending OP just pointing out that there are numerous people claiming that they did nothing wrong and still got the ban hammer.
You are literally dismantling your own point in like 4 posts and accuse OP of lying even though you admit Blizzard can also ban people by mistake (… like OP)
It happened to me. I got an email that said I was suspended for botting for 6 months and that it will not be reversed. I have never automated anything. I am not interested in automating in the least bit and I report bots. I submitted a ticket to challenge it. Someone in customer service cancelled that ticket with no reason attached. I submitted another ticket. It was denied saying they were not wrong and that my suspension will stand. I submitted a third ticket and 3 days later I got my account reinstated and a copy/paste apology explaining that it was an error, followed by a copy/paste patronizing lecture about how I should make sure I am playing within the ToS.
I could not even stomach playing such a poorly managed game after being treated like crap and never getting more than automated responses. I quit playing all Blizzard games because of it.
If they ban one bot at a time as they analyze the changes to the botting software, it will give the bot programmers a heads up so they can modify their programs and keep ahead of detection. For certain types of bot programs that become common, it makes the most sense.
Agreed; that said, a single bot ban wave nearly 5/6 into the phases, after BL has already spiked 600%, is pretty abysmal server management.
Many other AAA MMORPGs ban immediately for botting and don’t seem to suffer from the repercussions of doing so as much as Classic servers have suffered from providing ample time for bots to proliferate and seize control of server economies.
If they don’t ban bots except for over a year into the servers’ life, and hit innocent people with the ban wave, that’s worse than having to fight with botters.
Are you kidding me??? Unreal. How insightful. I wish I had all the answers like you. Believe it or not there are people in the world that pride themselves on honesty. This dog don’t hunt son.
They should treat the forums like their game and forum ban in waves. It’s not so difficult to check forum reports and ban people for things they type that day, but bot reports? Impossible, we must attack those in waves. rolls eyes
