I try to be polite and notify people that if they stay close together and not scatter around they will get healed and I still have people who just wanna run around in circles and cry when they die. If I rescue you twice I’m hinting at something lol.
But yeah I ran one the other night and exactly had this issue healing.
I still have nightmares from S1, playing with 2 ranged is not easy at all on certain fights.

Nozdormu’s teachings and focusing on empowers feels fun with 2 set. I just hate that TA gobbles all your mana up, and that Lifeforce mender and life-giver’s flame is a 4 talent point investment. It feels like you have to run energy loop to keep the tank off empty, which leaves little room for other good picks. IDK if anyone else has experimented with it yet, but it was fun and interesting for me at least.
It’s astounding how stressful and annoying certain comps (such as anything with ranged specs) can be with preservation.
In S1 there were some bosses that just sucked to heal. Last boss of RLP could be a pain. The spread for Runic Brand on Odyn, etc.
At the start of S3 I ran some dungeons with all melee comps, and I was having a blast. I was all set to continue playing this as my main.
I ran a Galakrond’s Fall with a shadow priest and balance druid. Manifested Timeways was a purely infuriating experience. Could not get the two ranged with dream breath. Heck even dispels weren’t even feasible due to the short range of evoker on one pull because of their positioning.
I decided to gear up my priest instead and try out the new disc. It has its own stressors but at least it isn’t stressing about whether or not 1-2 other players are standing properly. I can be more focused on my own gameplay and not someone else’s.
I can agree with this. After having my 2pc bonus the extra living flames are nice for extra healing.
Yup. I love preservation’s overall theme and skillset, but the range crap is so frustrating. Not only because of how annoying it is, but just knowing its a limitation that’s completely arbitrary. Its not justified by any aspect of the spec whatsoever, so dealing with it is extra punishing.
If patch notes came out saying the holy paladin would have 30 yards going forward, would people just shrug it off? Of course not, so im flabbergasted we are still saddled with it. Having the same range as…you know…every other healer in the damn game is not some insanely unreasonable request.
Also TA is a freaking joke and needs to be fixed. No idea how such a foolish change could have made it past comptent testers.
