It was free to thousands of people. Imagine taking out some personal grudge against people who aren’t involved. I get that people can be frustrated by Blizzard but still, really doesn’t make sense that those people should take it out on people who aren’t involved in their dispute.

Blizzard should reward those that stay and play the game, those that come just for the new stuff? Can also buy it too, but loyalty bonuses make sense for a sub game.

Pretty par for the course for the WoW community. Maybe OP’s situation isn’t real. But, this is definitely something that would happen.

Sounds like everything is working as intended. A group of people kicked you from the dungeon because they decided they didn’t want to play with you anymore. Their reasons for doing so are mostly irrelevant.
They kicked you because you were top DPS, the transmog was the excuse. People are really competitive about DPS in low level dungeons ,they act like they are in a Mythic raid being parsed.

Well despite that being the wrong thing to do its because people are sick of Blizzard adding transmog items to their store while paying a monthly sub. I feel like you answered your own question though in short its because you bought a mog from the cash shop and your group didn’t like that.

Or maybe they have a 6month recurring sub and the outfit showed up in the gift tab like it did for me.
Just like how some stranger would probably say something to you if you were wearing a fairy outfit in RL. It’s your choice if you want to dress like that, just don’t expect everyone to keep you feeling safe for it.
I hate the cash shop, but I’m under no illusion that protesting it is going to do anything at this point. There’s enough people that don’t mind paying for content they paid to have created in the first place. (Plus I did exactly that lawwwl I’m a simp)
If anything the sprite darter transmog is worth the $$$ just to help you avoid playing with toxic people like the ones that kicked you. If I’m ever kicked out of a group because of it, I’ll just be glad I’m not playing the game with toxic losers.
Plus the set is cute as heck so their loss all around.
