I’m sick of getting clapped in WPVP or BG’s. I know we are glass cannons but I just get melted, even 1v1’s. This isn’t a complain post because I’m certain I’m doing something wrong lol. I do have pvp gear (equipped 570, PVP Ilvl 624) I know i’m not pvp “geared” as maybe the more hardcore folks but I feel like I should be at least hitting targets for as much as I get hit. I’m using the Aeghis insta cast build. Any pointers for you seasoned pvpers I’d appreciate.
Frost really isn’t though.
Squishiest mage spec currently is arcane due to one block and no cauterize to act as a failsafe.
What are you losing to in 1v1’s though? That could help. Aff lock and MM will probably bully you through rot and or just shredding out of range.
If you’re losing to melee as a frost mage though then you’re probably wasting your mobility and improperly using shimmer/displacement.
I can’t see your PvP spec or gear currently based on what you logged out in.
However, to live as mage you really need to take advantage of all your tools. Learning how to alter time properly is massive, it’s a very short 1 minute cd and most people get outplayed by it. That, along with maximizing your movement with shimmers and displacements helps a lot. And then you can reset it all with shifting power.
As Elderthana mentioned, don’t bother trying to fight an MM hunter 1v1, do your best to DB/Nova/Ice Nova them and run away or line of sight.
Greater invis too! Using this during their main cooldowns is nice to cancel casts and obviously for the wall/damage reduction aspect too. Blast wave for knockbacks to stop their damage as well.

There is no way, shape, or manner frost mage is a glass cannon.
This class is as tanky as fury warrior, a lot more mobile, unlimited ccs and insta cast ice lances, and heals like a healer
They said theyre making mistakes, they came here for advice and the only thing you did was make a DB statement to basically mock them. Thats flaming.

Frost is the best spec right now. If you are getting clapped, its because you aren’t kiting right.
You should be blinking, altering, displacing, alter, blink in that order when kiting melee.
Awareness with alter to soak incoming damage, also make sure you use mass invis as well since its a 70% wall.
Your damage should be ok, its basically all instant ice lances and flurries. Making sure you are trying to get damage in when targets are frozen for the bonus. Make sure you use comet storm also as it slaps and has a big meteor hit also, this can be combined with a flurry prior to it and it hits harder.
Throwing down orb and blizzard is also important to reduce the CD of it and keep pumping out orbs as much as possible.

Incorrect. Pointing out that the class is S tier is a fact. Think with logic instead of your feelings.
The advice you’ve gotten is all very solid. Alter Time is your survivability bread and butter. You need to just spend time thinking and learning. For example don’t use a shield during Alter, save it for when you alter back. Another tip, if a melee is attacking you while you’re altered, hit em with a frost nova right before you alter back. Do you have /cancelaura alter time keybound? You’ll need it sometimes.
Learn positioning. You’re ranged with tons of instant casts. You can use terrain features/LOS to your advantage. You should be trashing any melee that tries to engage you 1v1. You can ice nova people during their charge/wild charge/roll/etc. A lot of times I open up by polymorphing into Ice Bomb ->Ring of Fire-> Comet Storm. You have three spell schools. If you get kicked you can freely cast from another school. Don’t get kicked on frost if you think you might need to Ice Block soon. However if you’re desperate you can unkick yourself with Cold Snap.
You don’t just need to be using your instant casts. Frost bomb and ring of fire are huge damage. Use comet storm and lock them in place with ice nova so they actually get hit. I keep these on cool down and reset the cooldown with shifting power often. Make sure to use counter spell often. You can also reset CS with shifting power and get a second kick off right after.
I find the most dangerous classes to fight are aff locks, spriests, and shamans. At the very least you can remove curses from aff locks. I track alter time with the addon TellMeWhen and if it gets dispelled I immediately know. If my arcane intellect gets dispelled I immediately know.
If DKs have a green bubble on them, then save your damage until it runs out because you can’t even apply debuffs on that shield (anti-magic shield). As others have said you’ll need to learn to fake cast.

Edit: Your easiest matchup 1v1 will be ret pally. Just keep him at a range and spell steal his blessing of freedom and they will literally never be able to connect with you while you wreck them with damage. Use Bigdebuffs and when a priest pops power infusion, spell steal it. Make sure you’re using all the best pvp add-ons. GladiatorLossa is fantastic and can be adjusted for use in battlegrounds.

You are helping literally zero people. Saying it is S tier doesn’t mean the person playing it is playing it that way and that is why they asked for help, to which you have offered none at all. You’re just saying something that may be true, but not helping the case.
If you come to a friend with a problem and then they say “oh, I jist fix it with my enormous wallet” it does not help you, the person having the trouble, it just inflates their own ego. Much like you are doing right now, so how about you contribute to the conversation before we all start knocking your ego back down to where you should be, little one.
