They might also have quit the game altogether when their choice was either playing in a dry pool, or joining the faction that belittles and mocks their preferred faction at every chance they can.
I wouldn’t call it hate. I just don’t think Blizzard cares about players at all (Alliance or Horde), but they’ve made it clear they don’t care much for the Alliance, find it boring to write for, and far prefer the Horde. As if that’s anyone else’s fault but their own.
that was my thought too. if they dont like the faction, change it so they like it. it’s preferable to punishing their own playerbase. thats self defeating.
ESO says hello. A game with ONE SERVER that everyone plays on, and which any faction can dungeon raid with any other faction, that has more active subscribers than WoW.
project 1999, an everquest emulator, also lets opposing factions group for dungeons and raids, and everyone understands each other cause they speak the common tongue. the problem is, wow is hard core tribalism. if you remove that, you will lose a huge chunk of the horde. right off the bat. and they wont go alliance. they’ll quit.
Literally in every occasion Alliance player mocking Horde for being a bad guy or living in a hut (things that the player had no choice for), so ofc when horde player and dev try to being playful calling them something at Blizzcon, they decide to cry and sue Blizzard.
boy you sure got that right. but the difference here is, this is the entire basis of wow. the lore is all about that. everything in the game, is about that. most of us have chars on both factions and abide with/some even enjoy the war theme, unique to each faction. so it doubles the potential stories and increases the emersiveness of it.
thank you. haha i was like…why’s that underlined as if i didnt spell it right, and when i clicked the spell check it didnt have the correct spelling listed
Well, they could always do something like what EQ did and let any race go through a process to “betray” their faction and join the other, with a long arduous grind and/or time gate if they want to go back.
I honestly thought they were setting something like that up with Pandaren but it just never materialized.
I am all for the factions staying in place, but it would be cool if we could evolve to the point where it could be about more than race.
Factions of PRINCIPLES are interesting. Factions of race I feel are outmoded and boring, plus it kinda sends a bad message as far as what is worth fighting over.
I don’t think that alone would be enough to fix the imbalance. It’s just something that would be cool. But between that and some racial tweaks, and maybe some further pairing down of servers, it could be a start.
it’s… yes, we alliance players, most of whom also play horde, are incompetent, only when we cross the invisible line that says alliance. but when we’re on our horde chars we’re miraculously skilled and in all other ways, good players.
i didnt transfer. i just play both. i dont raid or pvp, though i did raid during mop and pvp’ed till wod. in fact, i play both factions on retail and on classic.
