Faction change Issue

I make a horde character, get to level 80, decide I want to be alliance. I buy a faction change so I am now alliance.

Here’s where the issues start. When I’m roaming around the world questing or chasing war crates, occasionally the game seems to forget that I am now alliance. SOME alliance players appear as enemies and we can actually fight while the rest of the alliance players are actually friendly as intended. All the while all horde players are still enemies.

Now the really weird part, I’ll give an example to better explain my issue: I show up to a warcrate drop, I see many friendly players and many enemy players so I drop in and join the fight. I start attacking, maybe even kill a few players AND THEN a few seconds later all the enemy players (red name plates) all of a sudden switch to green name plates and it turns out I was attacking my own faction. (THEY WERE ALL ALLIANCE, THERE WAS NO HORDE THERE TO BEGIN WITH).

Ive even had alliance players (who I originally thought were horde) ask me how I am attacking them then all of a sudden we are friendly 5 seconds later. I can provide video evidence of this happening if it helps anybody figure out what’s going on. This has been happening for over a month (since i bought the faction change)

This is getting seriously frustrating as this happens at least 5 times a day for me.

Pretty sure this has nothing to do with a faction change. The underlying cause is that you or the others attackable entered a free for all world pvp area and it can take some time to clear that status after leaving.

thats not at all the cause. ive thought of that and tried testing it out, staying far away from those pvp zones all day and the issue still happens.

Where you go doesn’t matter for others being attackable. If you’re attackable by other alliance players, you entered a free for all area. If they are attackable by other alliance players, they entered a free for all area. Generally, most players coming for the crate are doing so while they were in the process of doing the world pvp quest, which means they are coming from a free for all area. This has been a common occurrence since at least dragonflight. I didn’t really do world pvp in bfa, so don’t know if it happened there or not.
