Expurgation (dragonflight talent tree)

Currently Expurgation locks out 3 talents (Blade of Wrath included). This talent can break CCs with the DoT damage, as far as I know. Shouldn’t this be moved somewhere else and made very optional? This talent can actively hurt us. Maybe swap it and Blade of Wrath in the tree.

EDITED: Yeah, I meant BoW, thanks

You mean Blade of Wrath I guess? And yes, it should swap positions with BoW.

Been thinking the same thing. I definitely want Blade of Wrath as it increases the effectiveness of many talents in the tree. But we’re forced to take Expurgation with no choice at all not to. I’m mean if its DoT was able to trigger Art of War procs, then I’d be all for it. But it’s really lackluster as is.

This is the best solution to the issue… Expurgation shouldn’t gatekeep the mandatory Blade of Wrath talent, let’s face it, it’s mandatory.

I’d like to weight Expurgation versus other talents when making a build… but i can’t due to its positioning.
Been meaning to make a big post on changes i’d like to see and this would have been one of them.

:dizzy:Blade of Wrath is out of position. Way out of position IMO. It needs a rework.

:thinking:One of the final 3 talent rows should be BoW themed. For example:

  • Increase to Expurgation damage
  • All targets inside Consecration are hit by BoW
  • BoW always crits during Avenging Wrath

This kind of rework could create optional stat priorities. It creates more options as stat levels increase during the course of the expansion.

On a side note . . . . BoWs exploding from underneath all enemies would create some epic visuals.

Not sure if that would work with Consecrated Blade, but it sounds cool, not gonna lie.

There’s an idea. BoWs hit everything in range of you Consecrated Blade target.

SHING!! BoW triggers Consecrated Blade! All targets inside said Consecration, or enter it, are struck by a single BoW.

Multiple BoJs popping up at the same time looks great. You can see it in practice in a World Quest in Nazmir where you become the Hand of Fate temporarily (same visuals, I mean).

It is as you said. Also BoW is somewhat mandatory in the Consec build Blizzard is pushing , it feels bad that both BoW and Conscrated blade are on the same row and leading to the same place. It really feels like losing out on a point right there.

They changed it! I’m really glad and surprised!

Yes, it’s actually an option now that is skippable if you don’t want Sealed Verdict… which looks boring af.

Well Blizzard did swap them around, so that’s good.

Not gonna lie they made some interesting new talents there but they kept a lot that should just outright be scrapped (Timely Judgment, Holy Crusader, Highlord’s Judgment, JUSTICAR’S VENGEANCE, I’m sure I missed some).
