Looking at the Mythic and Heroic logs post 8.1.5, is it correct in assuming that Explosive Potential is still the only “viable” setup?
viable isnt the word. it is currently the go-to/top performing setup if available to the lock
No, it isn’t the ONLY viable setup… but it IS the top performing setup by a significant margin with a simpler rotation and less punished by mechanics.
The thing about the word “viable” is that that doesn’t necessarily mean best. You can still run Sacrificed Souls or Nether Portal with relevant gear and stats and be above average. Perfectly viable. But you’ll still be falling significantly short from what you’d be with a Demonic Consumption EP setup. I know this to be true because I go back to Inner Demons / SS with Bilescourge for M+, and have forgotten to switch back for raid and just went with it. Still forced to run EP because that vile trait has tainted my gear into removing most of my haste, though.
Man, I hate EP, reminds me too much of Demonic Empowerment. Not quite as bad, since you don’t cast it after almost literally every spell, and at least you get to watch your imps dogpile the enemy, but still reminds me of it as a maintenance buff you have to try to maintain or suffer a huge dps loss.
I put viable in quotation marks for a reason.
Doesn’t LOSS rank 3x Balefire ahead of 3xEP now?
balefire is ahead in ST, for multitarget EP is still ahead.
So what are the ideal single target talents now my dudes?
for demo? same as before
edit: before = still Dcon build with DSTR
Ah, yeah that’s what I’ve heard. During mplus it’s still worth taking bilescourge and grimoie felguard i’m guesin?
i’m still using the same setup as before… just now the dps is comparable to 2 stacks of pre-nerf EP.
yeah, scourge for m+, but i’m using soul conduit to spam more HoGs and imps.
Soul Conduit + DM is really powerful, but GFG isnt a complete waste by any means
Because Mobility is not the only aspect of a fight and not as major as that one. You are comparing apples to oranges. Where you are trying to compare movement to multi-target BUT want to know a high movement fight the BM beat Shadow in?
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/19#boss=2141®ion=2
Another high movement fight with no adds that BM also beats shadow in
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/21#boss=2276
This leads to my final point any problems you have with BM’s design and niches you need to take up with Blizzard and it has nothing to do with Shadow.
First of all Mother is not high mobility in the slightest lmao…and you’re linking Uldir??
Also your 2nd link is irrelevant as BM was buffed after these complaints.
Look at the topic date…you necroed a pretty old thread…
If you go back to prior to 8.1.5 BM buffs you would see Spriests actually still beat BM on this high mobility fight.
Honestly im glad. I never ran much with that trait. I hated having to destroy my imps, I preferred the character concept of having as many deamons out as possible, especially imps.
Necromancer wannabe ^
