EASTERN KINGDOMS → ARATHI HIGHLANDS (Midnight)
I recorded a video of the players (it looks like they’re a clan and some are abusing that bug). I don’t know how they get into that quest area (According to what they told me, once they finish that quest they can always come back whenever they want).
In that place, since there are corpses dying around, the boosters bug a mission where spawn adds and they start killing them infinitely and getting a lot of XP, because there is a HYPERSPAWN bugging adds from a mission. They’re taking advantage of that, plus the gold they get from selling the junk the mobs drop. (Its like the last power leveling in Voidstorm)
I saw what was happening and thought, “I’m going to help,” but then I noticed they literally kept spawning infinitely. I moved away and threw away all the junk the mobs dropped for me. For a while now, I’ve seen different people doing this, and they bring Horde and Alliance players to kill anyone who tries to enter that small area where they summon infinite mobs (I even saw a group fight break out there).
I don’t know how to report people. I tried to see how I could send the video, but I can’t find a way. I’ve been here for a while watching people do this, so please, if you see a group of people doing it, report them.
P.S.: It just seems unfair to me that they take advantage of an exploit to level up their characters and earn gold. It’s ridiculous. Please remember to report the players you see doing this.
P.S.: This “spawn” thing is definitely not normal. They activate this mission “ The Sunwalker Path” by going through the quest chain “Arator’s Journey” on the scouting map in Silvermoon

The only thing you can do is report them, blizzard will decide whether they are exploiting or not. If they are then what typically happens is they get banned which pretty much deletes the gold they gained given they can no longer access or use it.
Historically speaking though, this doesn’t typically result in a ban and instead just a hot fix to stop the hyper spawn. This is why the phrase exploit early and often exists.
Seen this clan doing this as well. They have a farm of bots to boost individuals from 80-90, it’s 100% against TOS since they all are on a script. Farmed them in warmode with a friend after we reported them.

To report someone you’d have to click on their character, right click on their portrait, select report player, and then select cheating. This will give Blizz the most information because they can then check their logs/data based on where and when you reported.

One of our healers got a week suspension at the start of the season over the profession knowledge exploit and they weren’t the only one who caught a punishment over it.
While exploits likely won’t result in a permanent ban on a first offense unless it is a particularly heinous one, people do get hit with account penalties for exploits and bug abuse.
I assume you are talking about “The Legacy of Arathor” questline, as thats the only Midnight thing I can locate.

and they bring Horde and Alliance players to kill anyone

Are you in warmode? Not sure how it could be otherwise, since as a PvE players nobody can kill you.
If you believe that anyone is 'bugging a mission" in some way, use the report function. Blizzard will decide if it is something that requires action against any player or players.
Right, but blizzard is inconsistent with what they do and do not consider an exploit. There is no concrete yes or no when it comes to this.

This was a problem in mop remix, so they should know not to do it.
But also they didn’t really “punish” the people that did that, just removed progress, and even then it was only progress above and beyond a certain amount which was like… 10,000,000 infinite power so I think the real message that got sent was that abusing hyperspawning mobs was alright
Except the knowledge point one was VERY obviously an exploit and could never be done without explicitly gaming the system. Everyone who did it knew they were doing something wrong. You literally had to make a macro to make the KP thing work. OBVIOUS exploit.
This is just killing hyper spawns. Very much not an exploit and is rarely seen as one. They will just need the XP or gold and move on like they have in the past.
Cosmetic report system will do nothing. Need more humans employed that can actually take a look at issues. Its funny how the report system actually ends up better on the multiboxer’s side, due to his sheer numbers and ability to weigh you down dramatically with volume of right click reports when you attempt to even come near.
Blizzard for sure knows and has known since like 2018 that the report system can and will be used maliciously but the fact that it doesnt work for normies and works for exploiters is kinda hilarious every time it comes up

The way to report that sort of thing is to email the Hacks team directly. They won’t reply, but that is how you can submit evidence for them to then investigate. They appreciate the game version (Retail Midnight), quest name, in-game location coordinates, activity description. You can attach a video or screenshots.
They don’t use your “evidence” directly against others, but that can help them target the issue for their own data collection.
The email is hacks@blizzard.com
If you are in-game you can right click them to report them for cheating.
It’s in the game who cares? It’s not against the rules to kill mobs.

Exactly. I’m not sure how this is reportable.
It’s a glitch in the game and people are exploiting it. It’ll probably be fixed after this patch.
Who cares?
