Explain to me why you don’t like Sylvanas

-She’s a failure of a General as she’s managed to cause more issues than Garrosh in a shorter amount of time (separating the Horde because of her awful decision making; being triggered to start a war she and the Horde weren’t even remotely ready to win; losing a strong holding card against the Alliance and her own city; leaving Silvermoon open and unprotected because she didn’t even think about her Blood Elf allies when she tried to kill hope)

-She literally cares about staying out of Super Hell and that’s her driving factor. She doesn’t care about her people (evident when she shot them all down during Before the Storm, even those running back to her safety) or the Horde (typically insults any race not her own and doesn’t care that they don’t like her path); she demands absolute loyalty or you’re her enemy; she has the ability to mentally condition someone risen by her Valk’yr which makes me wonder about the state of the Forsaken’s minds (evident in 8.1 when she conditions Jaina’s brother).

-She used to be a well written, tragic hero with a complicated backstory and a desire to rise above it. Now she’s just Arthas with the strongest boob plot armor I’ve ever seen in this game, and a fan base so mindlessly zealotry that there are some who will argue against her being pure evil. If you like her as the villain she is, you’re fine. But if you try to argue she isn’t evil, or you try to say she cares about anyone but herself, you’re deluding yourself. She stopped being interesting the moment she decided that the only way to keep her people alive is to casually murder human nations and raise them.

There are other reasons I hate Sylvanas, but those are the big one. She was my favorite character in Warcraft III and now she’s just Arthas and Garrosh’s love child allowed to do everything she wants because she’s Blizzard’s favorite child.

Of the three windrunner sisters, Sylvanas was the only one who stayed at home to defend him. The others left with their “human potentials” to save the tropical forests or something like that.:cow:

There’s a difference between not liking a character design and then not liking a character because they perform morally questionable actions.

I would say a lot of people actually feel the latter, since there hasn’t been any changes to past story to make her as she is right now - someone who does rather horrible things and blaming it on other people (which she has done on a couple different occasions).

So I would say I do not like Sylvanas because of her making and use of the blight on living people, raising people without their consent, and killing her own precious undead because they decided they wanted to spend more time with their still living relatives (and then blaming their deaths on themselves). And that’s just to name a few.

As a character design, she’s great and makes people - especially the horde, get all in a tizzy over it.

Well, no. You’re doing it because Sylvanas made him make you do it :stuck_out_tongue: I disagree with everything else but I find his personality both silly and endearing and you do not so I guess we’ll just agree to disagree.

It’s not really about me disliking her. I have just always thought that her being in the Horde was odd.

Sylvanas is a great sub-character or main leader of a scourge type faction.

Her as the leader of the Horde is a disgrace to the Horde and having her as such is enough for me to want her dead.

I actually really like her as a character, and racial leader.

As faction leader/my tauren druid’s head canon? Her end game is disastrous and might save us from the void but only by providence, certainly not her design.

Nathanos is a one-note, poorly written, woobified and glaringly annoying character. Don’t growl at me, lapdog, I just ran your stupid errands.

Every story ‘needs’ a villian

Ernest Saves Christmas didn’t have a villain !

GREYMANE’S FORCES HOLD THIS WARDEN TOWA!

I used to really like her up until the recent expansions where she went from morally grey to outright dark genocidal b!tch. Here’s a few things that have driven me away completely from liking her current “Character Progression”.

  1. Garrosh 2.0, just add t!ts and somehow she gets a pass as a badass rather then a monster. She has gotten the same hype with thick plot armor Illidan got and now it’s somehow OK with fans on how lazy the story writing has actually become.
  2. Blizzard has to keep Ret-conning lore to make her appear even more evil and give reason as to her current 180 behavior change.
  3. Horde is now forced to be the bad guy yet again this expansion, which will cost them one of their greatest heroes while causing another schism in the fan base. You want Saurfang or Sylvanas to die? Either way horde looses yet another leader while alliance to date has only lost 1.
  4. No chance of redemption at this point unless blizzard realizes their mistakes and uses a lazy “Gotcha!” style writing by playing it off that she knew more and was saving both factions due to X despite not telling anyone her plans. Still to me their is no redemption for a person who smiles and laughs at burning to death the countless thousands of innocent men, women, and children. At least Garrosh used a mana bomb to instantly kill everyone.
  5. She kills her own loyal troops without thought or care, then forces them to rise up in death to serve her yet again rather then letting them be buried/burned according to that races customs. Nothing like murdering your own troops needlessly to inspire loyalty right!? I’m surprised she’s still somehow WC but her plot armor can’t even be pierced by anti tank rounds at this point.

Break their ranks! SHOW NO MERCY!

Incredible voice actor, but terribly annoying to hear for months on end.

She’s a great villain if you want disney saturday morning cartoon villains.

The execution of supposed faction vs faction is awful. May as well cop out and do faction specific raids where you each kill X or Y because at least it would be a better cover for being out of ideas. They need to hire someone that can write a story that goes further than a piddly 2-year expansion pack

Simply put, she has become the very thing she once sought to destroy - only worse.

I was going to, but 10-tons of plot armor dropped on my head.

Oh but she did, now the plan is to convert the Alliance into her personal DK army then the Horde, of course, you know to one-up Arthas.
