Explain me this

If you don’t want to swap covenants and won’t anyway and doesn’t effect you, then why do you care about other people who do want to swap covenants. It changes nothing for you.

They just love to argue. Check back on this thread in about 5 mins.

I won’t be swapping Covenants (#TeamArdenweald), so you are right. It doesn’t affect me. I have no issue with those who want changes, though.

Pretty sure it’s the same people that think healers should stand around picking their nose instead of dpsing when there is no healing that needs to be done.

I would guess peer pressure via social norms. Some people just don’t know how to say no because they are afraid of what will happen if they do, so they would rather people be unable to force them to do what they don’t want to do, by forcing people to not let them do what they want to do.

Because having the options to do it so easily impacts the Pug meta which in turn does impact us.

Not really lol. The only thing people will do is wait for someone that comes around with what they are looking for. Groups aren’t going to magically start accepting people just because they aren’t switching their covenant.

Aren’t you impacted anyway because you’ll be expected to pick the best one and if you don’t then unlucky you. Changing let’s you be the best one for the dungeon.

I mean I personally don’t care I just wanted to get that dumb argument out of the way before someone else tried.

I suspect its all about a vision of how Covenants should be, not so much how it is for anyone else. I’ve had a strong opinion on Covenants from the start and nothing has happened so far has changed that. Unless there is some compelling reason further along in the expansion (which has not so far been hinted at) that is impacted by our choices, making a ‘meaningful choice’ for a covenant is rather pointless. All of the Covenants have a part to play within the Shadowlands maintaining the systems of the afterlife; they aren’t like the Horde and the Alliance, at war with each other - hell, players even do regular quests helping out another Covenant! There is no real meaningful choice involved because the choice has no impact on how you play the game.

Except of course for the core ability that the Covenant grants - and this has nothing to do with you liking a particular Covenant for its story or feel or look. In my opinion, there should be no core ability tied to a Covenant, no gameplay aspect. That way, you could choose what Covenant pleases your on aesthetic grounds and participate in the wider game and its ongoing battle to save the Shadowlands and, by extension, Azeroth.

This game just needs more accessibility. It wasn’t enough with free spec swapping, talent changes, and being handed gear. I’m so glad that Blizzard strives to prune any thought from playing WoW.

Technically you wouldn’t get more accessibility if they hadn’t added this garbage to begin with, it would be the same. Actually less in fact because they are reducing gear drops.

And yet the only people I see starting the arguments are the ripcord people

It’s spreading actually. As it gets closer to the release date, more and more people are looking into it and not liking what they are seeing.

The denial is quite tasty I admit

I’ve always been in the mindset that nothing would happen until the general playerbase got their hands on it.

Here it comes… …

Technically you would, because you’re removing restrictions already in the game. That’s fact.
