Not that i think Blizz will go back on LFR , its too late for that, i find comments like this strange , the game was fine pre LFR, some might even say better.
If they are going to incorporate major story in a raid setting, then there should be a easy version of said product to allow more casual people to view and enjoy the story.
Lot of us didnāt get into raiding until LfR and for a time from Cata -Legion I was doing normals and some heroics , but with changes in real life all I have time for is lfr .
I know I can pug but I will only do normal or higher with guild and when guild raids I am busy making sure the kitchen at work is sending out the best quality food it can and that the wait staff is taking what they should be taking out to their tables.
I believe LFR is something that should stay. One aspect of FF14 that I really enjoy is that you end up having to do an easier version of said raid to finish the story. LFR does this as well. The issue that Blizzard needs to figure out better is the differences between M+, raid and PvP gear.
And there would have been players in the same boat as you now when there wasnāt a queue system and the game was still good.
Iām not saying keep it or get rid of it , i find it funny people think LFR will have only a negative impact on the game if removed.
But to keep on topic i will leave the convo here
Thing is and Ion has said this in the past .
LfR has justified the continuing making of raids. Before LfR only a small minority got to see a raid with LfR everyone has the opportunity.
Making content for lets say 1 to 5 % of the player base is hard to justify to the share holders but making various versions of said content that appeals to players of varying playing levels does.
Didnāt mean to derail was responding to an earlier comment.
Players who donāt care to learn about the game are not good for the game. Iāve seen what happens to games that lower the bar. WoW has been suffering from the symptoms for a while.
Reduction in difficulty is destructive to games that survive on community. Difficulty drives players to form guilds and band together.
Edit: Grammar
A good way to have tested this was for Blizzard to actually launch pristine servers like they were thinking of.
No LFR , No LFG, No CRZ, No Sharding , No CRBGāS and seen if players filled these servers up and were happy.
Classic was good start. Honestly Iād probably be there but given how AB is about limited time things and pulling abilities away I want to get my heirlooms and heritage armour things before they go poof. Sure. I hate retail but retail is where you will have new content. Classic is just a way to bring all the old boys and girls around.
It takes a long time to make games so waiting 3 years for a polished one wouldnāt worry me.
All you need is a team to werk on patches for the current game. Easy peasy.
