Your not going to be happy unless the give the rase a tank spec o well we see you in the next xpac
I’m really surprised they didn’t go with heal/tank combo for Evoker tbh. They keep stacking tank/dps or heals/dps classes when they could definitely afford to curb/trim the dps tree down entirely. If I counted correctly, there’s 12 soon to be 13 dps options, compared to 6 tanks and 5, soon to be 6 heals.
I don’t think tank should be added in as a 3rd option. I think Evokers should be tank/heal class. That’s not saying that the dps doesn’t look fun but we have SO MANY dps already. We don’t need a triangle of all utilities. Let the deeps sit this one out for once.
Yeah, I know, tanks do less damage it’ll take forever, we need DPS to level blah, blah, blah. I’m sorry but, it’ll honestly be okay that it takes a little longer to down some mobs rather than going nuclear all the time. I get it. But it doesn’t mean I agree with it.
Why do we need a 7th tank class in general and why do Evokers need to fill that role?
This would have led to some really great meltdowns here. The Superbowl of internet tears
I know, I know. The trauma would have been unimaginable.
This one is easy, the last three new classes have tank/melee dps mainly so the new one being caster dps and heal only is absolutely wonderful, it’s casters time to shine and melee dps/tanks can take a backseat for a change.
So no, they don’t need a third spec and no it doesn’t need to be a tank spec if by chance they did get another spec it should be a crisscross hybrid of caster dps and heal specs but amplified and mixed together like a support aspect of the class.
No Evoker is a pure caster class that’s it and as someone who plans on maining Preservation Evoker I don’t want no tank spec stealing Time Dilation which is a useful ability I can use to help keep ANY tank alive.
Now stop asking for a damn tank spec you’re never gonna get one EVER
The only reason people want Evoker tanks is to have people tanking 5-man leveling dungeons when everyone rolls their new Evoker - which will be put on a shelf to collect dust after the first couple months, anyway.
That would be a lot of long-term damage to the game just so people can level alts they’ll never play again by running dungeons instead of doing quests (especially when questing is faster, anyway).
Tanking Evokers is just a terrible idea, all around.
Nonsense! They’ll get logged into once a week to farm mounts/mogs!
I accepted 2 specs for Demon Hunter. DH has a very specific fantasy - heck, they could have gotten away with just Havoc as the only “Demon Hunter” spec and not bothered with a “Tank” spec because it made sense based on the fantasy.
Evokers? There’s enough material there for 5 specs if they wanted to do it - one for each Dragonflight. The only reason it’s only got 2 is because 2 is easier to do than 3 and they’re clearly cutting any corners they think they can get away with.
I would like Evoker to take on all roles like druid or even a third spec that’s like og druid and you can split between melee dps or an off tank like role
Okay, let’s delete Vengeance and give all its mechanics to Evoker tanks. Except the parts they stole from Warlocks, those should go back to them.
We already have several threads of this.
This is spam at this point.
I want to also steal og demo from mop and make that a dh third range spec
Lol Adding a tank spec is not a bad idea all the way around.
Df is a prime time to add more specs without all the extra fluff from systems to bog down the balancing.
Dragon class has a huge melee following.
It really is an injustice to many not having an option for it.
Enjoying a range is fine and dandy, but granting the other half the fantasy or head cannon they wanted for years is only a win and not a negative.
Long term health damage? What data other than your opinion do you bring to support that?
I understand the history of tank design through WoW’s history. That’s all you need to understand why adding more tanks is a bad idea - something that seems to have even occurred to the dev team (finally).
Cool opinion then.
It’s an opinion backed up by a long history of facts, as opposed to the “I want a pony!” of the OP.
It’s hard to buy into the idea that because Blizz cannot design well balanced tanks is the reason why the community should ask for or want more tanks though. In elistist terms Devs just need to git gud.
