"type “ADVANCED” before creating your Evoker"
Been watching a lot of the evoker gameplay and idk if “advanced” fits is super simple rotation. Not that most wow classes are exactly hard to play but I was hoping for a little more. Thoughts?
*I’d even go as far to say its one of the most simple classes in the game. DH still hold the crown of most simple.

Creation warnings, for reference.
It is definitely a different playstyle, something I don’t think a lot of people will like much at first, if at all. Playing empowered spells around the usual suspect boss mechanics is going to be the trick, really. Honestly, the hardest part for me to get used to is the range limitation. I always stop short of mobs that would otherwise be inside the 40 yard range for other caster DPS.

ST devastation is DH level simple IMO. press the shiny buttons and stuff when it’s off CD.
The main reason is that, as far as I can tell, you’ll be able to make one without having previously leveled a character. So newbs are given a clear warning.
Also while the dps spec isn’t abnormally complicated (pretty standard imo). The heal spec definitely has more going on then the average heal spec does in SL.

This is good. I’m glad Blizzard made a positive change absolutely no one can complain about.
Putting that warning there is useless lol.
People are gonna ignore it and some will learn how to play it while others will ditch it just like any other class.

You only say that because of how advanced you are. You’re so advanced you can’t possibly believe how advanced you’ve advanced in the game. I wish I was as advanced.
I… am not… ADVANCED! (in Illidan Burning Crusade voice)

I can’t say that I have played my evoker a lot…but I have seen a lot of complaints about people trying to figure out how to handle the “mid-ranged” playstyle, especially when healing. So maybe that’s why they consider it advanced?

I think it’ll just take some getting used to. Sounds like ppl are expecting to step into beta and master the class in a 1 or 2 combat instances.
It allows blizzard (and countless forum goers) the opportunity to say you were warned if they suck at it.

Well at least they won’t be able to say “I just clicked through”… lol
Seeing as how our talent trees were cut down to what they are now and how most of our spells were removed due to so many saying the game was too difficult and the fact that these Evokers are coming out as more abilities than any hero class before…yea I would have to say lots will call it advanced.
100% willing to bet we will see multiple back to back posts about how Evoker is “too advanced”, “too overpowered”. We will get that.
DH is too simple. I was so disappointed with my DH. I used to multibox them in arenas. And their rotation is so simple. Nothing to it. To get their mount all you have to do is walk a few steps forward and it is right there. You mount it and that is it.
To get the DK mount it is a quest, you have to go out and watch out for elite guards there. So many complained about that.
DH had to level from 98 to 110. All done in one expansion. DK had to level up 58 to 80. Done across 3 expansions, as you began in Classic zone to DK quest, then go to TBC, then level out of TBC and then go to WoTLK after that.
And people complained that was too difficult, too advanced. So we got the simplified DH. So I can see why Blizzard is warning people about Evokers being an advanced race.
I always assumed that was because you were making a character on the max lvl server. Either way, it IS a completely different play style from other classes so I get why if you’re playing wow for the first time or even returning, they’d throw in that warning.

lol. and people crap on WW monk for being “hard” because you can’t just literally spam the same spell over and over.
I have beta and have played around with Evokers for a while now and can comfortably say they are one of the easier classes to play. Well Devastation that is. Preservation does fit the bill of being an “advanced class”.
I honestly think it’s less about the playstyle and more about the fact that you’re going zero to endgame with no context. If it’s your first character, jumping right into the fray could be confusing.
Lots of games I have played have had similar warnings on boosting characters.
The only thing advanced about evoker is mastering the ability to not fall asleep during single target fights

It doesn’t look like my game play, but evokers look like excellent old raid and dungeon farmers.
Depends on a person’s play more than just an advance play to me.
I can face roll death knight, lol.
maybe “easy to learn, hard to master” is more precise
I think the advanced part is in min/max playstyle and the fact it starts at a higher level
The passives such as catalyst and trying to get free procs to get burn to tick faster are interesting.
