The nerf with 5700 mastery put me from like 101 or 104 to 81% in any case i gained about 12k dps from the patch somehow.
You do realize there is more than just āraidingā rightā¦like M+, all the forms of PVP and regular world content right? Right? And now after the nerf Dev Evokers are doing about 20k less overall DPS on ST Raid bosses. And about 50k. And in 10.1 there were 8 evokers in the top 100 and 5 in the top 100 nowā¦how does either of those numbers equate to āThe Best Overall Spec In Raid.ā DKs, Mages, Locks and SPriests are all just as good or better in about every fight.
this isnāt even close to true.
Itās easier to be a doomer than informed.
so you havenāt looked at Warcraft logs then??? Because itās 100% easily provable by looking at patch 10.1.5 and 10.1 right next to each other.
Yeah so Iām getting a 5000 DPS loss overall and its super noticeable in ever aspect of a fight now. This rework is bullcrap and they need to undo it. I was just getting excited about devastation being a decent class after the rework in 10.1 then they had to go and screw it up. Since the 10.1.5 update Iāve done 3 raids and maybe about 5 dungeons (down from my usual 20 dungeons a day) and I hate how weak I am now. It makes me genuinely want to just quit playing all together.
The nerf was a bad idea. They should have waited until a new patch / season.
People crafted their armor and farmed specific best in slot stats.
For them to just switch board that is dumb.
I lost a ton of dmg in PvP because we stack haste and now that they pushed the mastery down. I do roughly 20% reduced dmg. I was at the top of the meters after every match now Iām at the bottom.
In PvE I was super overgeared for the mega dungeon yet, I couldnāt beat 430 ilvl dps. Something that is veryyyyy lame and strange to me now.
I think they should revert and look to changing it next patch / season.
The nerf doesnāt change gearing for evoker though.
Nothing about our stat prio is changed.
Mastery is still the best, itās just not quite as crucial to have a ton of it as it was before.
Are you sure?
The ideal goal for nerfing mastery was so we would build other stat armor.
I donāt enough time has been out before we start seeing that Mastery may not be the best stat anymore. We prob have to stop now after a certain % then go full haste / crit.
It might We donāt have enough data yet.
Mastery was our best stat by an extremely wide margin. Too wide. What the mastery nerf and the 6.5% buff accomplished was make our damage spread more a little even across an encounter, and reduce our burst potential.
People with low mastery will see this change as more of a buff, while people with really high mastery will see this as more of a nerf.
The other secondary stats are better now by virtue of the mastery now being worse, but mastery still sits comfortably on top.
Edit: Also there was already a rough breakpoint after which we stopped farming mastery, 5400. i donāt know if it changed.
You mean you havenāt looked at warcraft logs? because the vast majority of parses for devastation fall into the 439-446 ilvl range. Looking at the 99th percentile for these ilvl ranges, devastation as an aggregate have has anywhere from 13% less damage to gaining 2% damage. When looking at all percentiles for the same ilvl range, dps drops range from 11% to 3.2%. No ilvl range with a relevant number of parses drops by 20k, and the most common amount to drop by is 4-5%, closer to 5-7k. So again, what you said is not even close to true. Go do your own research.
It really depends on how much mastery you had previously, Prior to the patch i had about 6100 then prior to the patch I dropped down about 700 to add haste in. When the patch hit I gained like 7k. I donāt think they accomplished the goal of making the class less swingy for damage. They would need to do the exact same thing again in my eyes.
OMGā¦are you just daft or being willfully ignorant. Like seriously dude. You obviously donāt play Dev Evoker and never have. ST didnāt take as big a hit but AOE 100% did.
And itās amazing you just happen to leave out the biggest thing of all. AUG EVOKERS BUFFING THE DEV EVOKERS LOLā¦so doing 2-5K less, according to you, or about the same while also getting buffed massively by the AUG evokers is 100% a nerf. Like what donāt you understand. There is no argument. Every AOE encounter DEV loses significant DPS when an AUG isnāt buffing it.
You specified single target, chief.
Augmentation buffs are effectively the augmentationās dps. Devastation is not losing out here, augmentation is.
I like to hate on Battleās takes usually because, well, itās enjoyable.
However, youāre wrong here, and the fact that you think that aug buffs are being attributed to these devoker logs also shows that you donāt understand how the hooks work. If we were talking about Demo locks or UH DKās, you may have a point. Not in this case, though.
I swapped back to devo in non-ideal gear for our heroic alt run last night on sark just to help the group out with dmg, and I did 122+k and parsed a 95 for ilvl without getting a single PI.
The dmg difference was barely noticeable to me on a fight where old mastery benefitted even more on the adds since they get gigabursted by us every spawn.
My overall sim was about 129.9k last week and itās 128.9k now.
Additionally, the spec feels SO much better on low hp targets when D-rage is down, that Iād gladly take the slight dps loss. Watching everyone blast past me in the last ~30% of fights felt horrible, and I was hanging around the top much better.
If youāre losing that much damage, youāre either misplaying horribly or statted/geared incorrectly. Potentially both.
"The nerf on the bis profile was roughly 2.5%. You may see some variance on this based on your current gear.
This nerf is quite small, and no, Devastation is not dead."
This is directly from the Devastation pins in disc.
I knew you loved me
