Evoker is the worst class ever added to the game

How does anyone know they’re fun if they’re not playable though

You can’t trick me. You’re saying they’re boring like it’s fact. I demand to know how you know that.

I’ll tell you my secret when OP tells us how they know it would have just been better to add one of those other three to the game instead.

Fun is subjective. I personally find the concept of a Tinker or Bard boring. It’s Just not my style, whether they’re playable or not.

All in for Necromancer though.

Dragons in WoW more often then not have been portrayed as Elves. So they took the best Elf model for Men, and changed thier features a bit and added scales to make them Dragony Elves.

They only chose female humans, to have a more curvy proportion, so that both Body Types could fit more realistically average bodies in visage form.

Not to mention Dracthyr are primarily a Black DF creation, and until Ebyssian, they were Humans and Elves. So it makes sense.

Evoker is one class that they said they plan to NEVER open up. Which I get, just because the class’ power is biologically tied to the Dracthyr.

I wouldn’t be super mad if they opened up Evoker, but they better open up Dracthyr too. In which case I’d be playing Dracthyr for a lot of other classes.

Them being high elves and humans make no sense when this form was chosen back 10,000+ years before these races existed.

We could argue nonsense bronze dragon bs but the reality is they chose this form to blend in with the mortal races, which at the time were Trolls,Tauren,Terasect.

Thats it. it makes zero sense to try to blend in with the trolls and turn into a night elf, on top of the fact becoming something that doesnt even exist, it is like making up a color. you cant cause you have to see it first.

The Drathyr visage even makes less sense and is just some cringe deviant art fanfic reason.

The true reason of the visage form is told to us by the wow devs very recently on twitter. Quest… they couldnt figure out how to put the quest ! mark on top of dragons where players could see it easily. which is why the visage forms were created.

What did us Augvokers do to you? We’re a great spec that provides the best utility in any M+/raid party. There’s nothing wrong with us Augs, or the other Evoker specs.

Dev would be cool with a better mastery and less reliance on Dragonrage windows. It was a great opportunity for push button —> do damage, but instead we got another CDE/CDR mechanic.

Preservation would be cool if you could stack echoes or they lasted longer. It often feels like if you’re out of combos, you have no answer to incoming damage.

Aug would be cool if there were other support specs. As it is, it’s impossible to balance.

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I like the way dracthyr look. I’m looking forward to race changing some of my toons once it becomes available.

But yet Neltharion, and the other aspects all had those forms.

I would argue it might have to do with Titan Influence. As the Proto Dragon Visages are not like what we see the other dragons doing.

That may’ve been true for thier initial implementation. But since then, they’ve been narratively shown that each Dragonflight typically prefers some kind of Elf or Human to visage into.

They’ve also stated that the Visage Form they have, seems to come from inside of themselves, as like an inner representation. Which is why Kalec is a Half Elf.

Their inner form being found on a Dragon’s “Visage Day”.

So if anything, I’d say Dragons got thier Visage identities from the Titans when they were first uplifted.

It depends on the talents you pick. Preservation does have a talent that lets you stack spells up for later use, and if you play your cards right there are some really nice big cooldowns you can use to reflect incoming damage. As well as the Time Dilation for other players. But for yourself you can have Renewing Blaze or Ebon Scales.

Not to mention Zephyr is good for AoE prevention.

I also enjoy the Dracthyr in both forms. But it does take me a minute to make the Dragon form’s face be something I like, because some combos look off together imo when I see them, just for my own taste. But if I see an option I REALLY want, I can just play around with it for a bit and find a good fit I like.

Ok that’s fair.

To be frank, I don’t want any new classes. They should have stopped at DK.

As an additional note, since I almost forgot about it.

Dracthyr didn’t even access thier inner form to have a Visage until AFTER they’re in SW or Org. They have to be taught how to do it from Ebyssian or Wrathion.

Although it is a bit weird that the game lore also HARD locks to say that All Dracthyr look like the Dragon Elves in visage form no matter what. But eh?

Personally I love the Dragon Elves, because Dragons and Elves go hand and hand. But that’s just me.

It started with SL in Oribos in the Halls of Curiosity. Activism™-Bilzzard was given their orders long before the developers worked on DF.

Not to be that person. But like what are you on about?

How does a Dragon not having Boobs, and not looking like they’re steroids mean they’re a sign of Activism? Like I can’t think of a single fantasy universe where Dragons or Dragonpeople are seen with Boobs. Aside from Elder Scrolls, but the Argonians aren’t really Dragon people.

At least I assume you’re meaning about the boobs, or that they can be Skinny to Buff in 1 of 4 body types?

I don’t know how to feel about agreeing 100% with a Vulpera… but here I am.

Just like how they opened up Demon Hunter to everybody right?

You recall wrong then. Even as far back as Warcraft 3 Green Dragons were acid based. WC3 Green Dragons used chaos elemental attacks that ignored all armor types that gave them an acidic attack.

But we don’t even have to go that far back. Even back in Vanilla the green dragonflight had noxious, toxic breath attacks that dealt nature damage (and guess what is the most common form of nature damage in WoW since 2004? You guessed it acid and poison )

Just look at the 4 dragons of the nightmare. Or, you know, check that one quest in Cataclysm Mount Hyjal where you ride the back of an Emerald Drake before Cenarius is reawakened and it literally has “Acid Blast” as the first clickable ability button.

Toxins and Acids are part of Nature damage as a class in Warcraft for decades now, and as a general rule of thumb Green Dragons breath it as their form of attack, simple as. What they work and what they spit are two separate things.

You know what’s funny? Dragonriding mounts actually wear armors. Dracthyr can’t [shoulders alone doesn’t count].

A friend of mine plays FFXIV. I’ve tried to get into it, but can’t really seem to; I think I find the aesthetics of it kind of offputting, and I think that particular model is part of why. Mind you: I wish playing a monk were more like playing a pugilist; there are distinct similarities, but there’s something satisfying about playing a pugilist (not my Au Ra) that’s missing from the monk. (Probably the “thud, thud, thud” when your punches land.) But I digress.

And on the subject of dracthyr/evokers? Not my favorite. Visage is disappointing and I never use it, and the run animation is kind of weird. But a hell of a lot of the complaints about the model are either flat-what-worthy, or sound like personal problems to me.

I’m still angry you can’t be a dragon tank or melee.

You’d think a creature most known for it’s scales, claws and teeth would have close quarters options.

Personally I don’t think devastation or preservation are unique enough to deserve a spot as a class.

Augmentation should have been a shaman spec. Sort of a caster off shoot of enhancement.

Dracthyr and Evokers are goofy, and once DF is over they’re going to look so out of place
