i really don’t think clawing shadows being good makes unholy dk not a melee in the same way ret paladin is.
unholy loses a large amount of damage not being in melee range and it can only do ranged damage for a small amount of time without needing uptime again
doomburst is generated through auto attacks and you have to festerstrike to apply wounds. the two ways you’re going to actually die to a dk is doomburst and apocalypse which both require melee uptime, you can’t ever just play full ranged
like yeah a mage will blink away with 2 wounds on them and you can pop those 2 as you close the gap but ret paladin can do the entirety of it’s damage outside of melee range and really doesn’t lose anything for doing that.
nothing makes me more annoyed than a ret with freedom up just zig zagging around 20 yards away from you while they do 150k damage
personally though i would heavily prefer scourge strike to be a melee requirement always, to do this though i really do believe that deathstrike and AMS need to be tuned in a way where a DK realistically can survive being stuck in bad positions for this to not be broken though they have to get rid of deaths advance and force dks to be actual wheelchairs
And DKs don’t? Ret also does more dmg in melee than ranged crusader strike is tied to melee does some of rets highest dmg and generates holy power. Rets top dmg ability press is ranged, same as unholy’s. I’d argue for both to stay the way they are currently, as neither has a true MS, they require something in addition to be consistent in arena compositions.
I mean unholy highest damage is going to be apocalypse and you do have to be in melee to generate the wounds I’m hunkering down on my opinion that it’s less ranged than ret even if shown irrefutable evidence

Damage overall? Every Dk breakdown I’ve seen it’s deathcoil/claw at the top, what makes that different from final verdict/judgement? Even if we concede that unholy is “less ranged” by a button press to apply festering, unholy has more gap closers and more freedoms when specced for them. (2xgrip 2xfreedom) it also has more CC once those gaps close, 80% ranged spam slow. (Stun/blind are the same, but toss a ranged silence on there with a longer ranged kick). Very little about unholy makes them considered melee, yes you have buttons that only function in melee, so does ret and for what ranged buttons you lack compared to ret, you make up for in spades with gap closers and CC.
What this means is the gameplay is miserable for everyone

The complaints of everything being OP is just the symptoms of a gamemode that has become boring and unplayable for many
I still enjoy the game but I would be a lair if I said the health of pvp is good
The only consistent posts are nerf sub/ war and buff feral “this is mainly 2 people spaming posts constantly”.
Sub is only disgustingly op at the top end and against players who don’t know how to play against them. And arms being op is mainly due to bladestorm/ getting trained by an arms warrior feels miserable, but that’s been standard forever.
Does it though? I personally don’t have any problems with any specific specs right now. The games fun, if you don’t constantly have people telling you it isn’t.
That’s because of 2 things. The start of the season was a joke with how deflated the ladder was, and also it’s season 3. It’s always going to be slightly more deflated from the previous 2 seasons since it’s no longer new.
That’s like saying league is boring because it’s still league. Players like arena because it’s arena. If they don’t like it that’s fine, but that’s what the game is. Trying to force something else will more likely just kill off the already dwindling playerbase. We’ll see if in the future battleground blitz pops off when ranked is added, but I honestly doubt it. There’s a reason normal rbg’s have always been dead.
RBG’s is dead because trying to appease all those egos and make a group last long enough to merit teamwork is awful
Blitz cures all that issue and the anti socials get to play, I fear it will be successful and fully abused then pvp as a whole will be super spread out and feel even worse
I wish they just integrated RSS to real 3’s and 2’s
how so , it caters to the anti social and the social , why split them just pvp vs them. they can queue like before and get grouped with like minded people vs those who prefer to be organized

I feel as though in the message that I quoted, you were saying that you didn’t like RBGs because it encourages some really antisocial and degenerate behavior (it does. Most RBGers are terrible human beings).
Solo shuffle and solo queues in general do the same thing because you don’t need to behave appropriately to queue.
I actually ENJOY shuffle and think it’s overall good for the game, but it absolutely promotes and encourages toxicity as a product of having no social requirement (similar to league of legends).
