Pffft, you call those little stubbies elf ears? I think I’m insulted.
You’re not really a Warcraft elf unless you have absurdly long ears that cut through helmets.
I’m assuming there are Kul Tirans that are a part of the Arathi.
The new kid models all have pointed ears, which implies the new Arathi is entirely half-elves.
Considering the new ears have achievement reward listed as their source, I’m guessing there’s going to be a questline where the arathi re-join the Alliance and Horde.
So in reality, if you play a half elf, you’d be playing a character that was found in War Within, even if it existed well before then. Lol. No different than things like Dark Ranger skins or Man’ari though.
To think we get to see the Half-Elf Kingdom!
Stromgarde and Stormwind were the original Half-Elf Kingdoms founded by the Arathi Half-Elves before the Humans took over and now we will get to see the only surviving Half-Elf Kingdom!
Hallowfall is like Gondor(the last bastion of the Half-Elves) while Stormwind is like the Kingdom of the North and Stromgarde is like Numenor(the first City of the Half Elves)! And yes Gondor, Arnor and Numenor were all founded by Half-Elves!
…And yet Hallowfall(despite being the Arathi Half-Elves’ Gondor) is the greatest of Half-Elven Cities while the first city Stromgarde(despite being the Arathi’s Numenor) is the least of Half-Elven Cities!
My gnomes need long pointy ears.
The elves need to keep it in their pants.
Apparently!
Gawd elves and humans are so freaking lame.
Blizzard is making it quite clear, only elves matter.
I guess squeaky wheel gets the oil. And I mean man. Has that wheel been extremely squeaky and wanting to take all dev attention.
Blood elves used to be edgy. And really, REALLY mean. Now we’re just something people really just play to be human on the Horde. Or worse… high elves. It’s so PAINFUL.
And now, everyone’s masquerading as one of us.
In brock samsung voice:
“All this false half elf talk is making me… twitchy…”
Because it doesn’t actually directly affect you and you’re making mountains out of molehills.
You can blame your own kin who still cannot understand the difference between Sin’dorei and Quel’dorei.
If you take away the blood elves’ long ears then they’re just humans with a skinnier build. That’s the only feature they have that separates them.
I really doubt “pure” high elves will go extinct anytime soon.
I literally explained how it directly effects me. I do not LIKE seeing humans with long ears. It’s a damn eye-sore. In addition, the people who fel damn encouraged Blizzard to RUIN my fel damn favorite race, and favorite part of the lore, are now getting to have even more favors thrown their way so they can have their stupid, insufferably basic Horde humans with rounded flipping blood elf ears. I desperately want blood elves moving FURTHER from this garbage, not deeper into it. That is not me making a mountain out of a molehill, that is me looking at the very mountain of one of the two pinnacles of what I want out of this game aesthetically and narratively, being crapped on. On top of that… this was a waste of time and resources from the art/graphic design department that was better spent on more important things.
Why try to work on reviewing and fixing armor issues that could arise with putting gear on non-bipedal races that players have been asking for for over a decade like Naga or Nerubians? The players need humans with pointy ears and elves with rounded ones. Get the fel out of here telling me this doesn’t directly effect me!
Oh I can assure you… I do. Them and all who cling to the idea of playing a high elf or any bland over-used elf trope.
You are forgetting glowing eyes. And eyebrows. Otherwise… yea physically that’s all there is. This is all just abominable.
This. Please just give Kul’tiran males a slightly less ugly face option. If that dude was even 3% Elf he wouldn’t look like that.
I second this. And short hair for KT
If we are gonna do this, can we get other hybrid options for Horde Races?
Like Blood Elf traits in Orcs, or Troll Traits in Orcs, or Goblin Traits in ‘Insert Race here’.
Why just limit it to the Friggin’ Humans and Elves?
I stopped caring about lore consistency years ago. If this were 10 years ago I might have been irked, but now idc, more customization is the way to go.
