Everyone can be a druid now

It breaks established lore, as there is nothing that says that only druids can receive shapeshift blessings from wild gods, but at the same time there is no lore that says others have been able to do such.

If the lore, as presented, goes to one side, and soemthign happens that appears to go against what has been stated, can it not be seen as lore breaking without some kind of explanation?

Would have been infinity better and non-lore breaking to simply make it a standard rideable mount that is an offspring of Ohn’ahra that chooses to be with us thanks to helping/appeasing Ohn’ahra.

Not ever race is nor should be capable of utilizing such potent nature magic to execute transformation. It’s why the previous shapeshifting mounts require alchemy. It’s why Khadgar uses Arcane.

Homogenizing such a skill isn’t good for the story of the game. Lore is important, whether you like it or not.

thats not how it goes, by lore many people have show to be able to change into animal forms and wild gods have blessed many non druids, there is not a single piece of lore that pointed out that there was ever a restriction on that.

this is like you saying I’m breaking a law if I make a character with the same name as yours because I cant find a law that says I can, your argument makes no sense.

In this entire thread i haven’t seen anything presented that supports druid exclusivity.

If you could show some “scroll”, or whatever, that was presented showing all of the shapeshifting blessings being given to druids across all games, books, literature, etc - then sure. But no such thing has been presented.

I don’t think it’s fair to just say “well, I’ve only seen 3 times in the wow world where blessings were given, and those were to druids, so clearly the lore is that druids are unique and exclusive recipients of god blessings.” That’s just making an assumption and trying to pass it off as something official.

That being said - if you have something comprehensive to present that supports the authors claim, PLEASE do so.

Ok, let me sum it up like this: there is no lore that states that others can’t get the blessing of shapeshifting from wild gods, but until now there have been ZERO examples of it being done for non-druids.

The lore has established that druids get this blessing from wild gods, without an example of a non druid getting it, people like the OP can assume it is, according to lore, exclusive to druids.

To be fair, the requirements for one to be a druid does not require anything beyond a closeness with nature, in lore.

Like there are ADDITIONAL ways to become a druid, but the baseline lore requirement is pretty much “obsessively enjoy the outside world”

Not the OP’s take, but I wish all races could be druids. It makes some sense for almost every society in WoW to have some connection to nature.

The moment every class becomes available to every race is the death of the lore and the last day I’ll be online.

Pretty stupid thread, but at least you’re getting all that attention you crave, OP.

I’m starting to think that was the OPs point.

Go do random world quests and normal quests. We are given the ability to transform all the time, just not permanently. This is nothing new, and it’s never been a druid only thing.

That’s what I was thinking. Classes have been homogenized for a while. The ability of transformation isn’t only a druid thing anymore and it hasn’t for a while. Shamans even had ghost wolf form in classic

Now, give us a bear form.

I mean, no one cared when they put portals everywhere lol or summoning stones by dungeons making locks and mages feel lesser, I am glad for this change! I would like convoke now and bear form.

The difference is that before each class that could transform was very clearly placed into a basket that corresponded to their given class.

A Warlock (in the past) could transform into an Illidan-looking Demon. Fel.
A Shaman can transform into a ghost wolf (and some other alternative ghost animals). Spirit.
A Demon Hunter can transform to be more demon-like. Fel.
A Mage can transform others (polymorph) into simply minded critters and in the case of some very specific and powerful mages can transform themselves into more intelligent animals. Arcane.
A Druid can transform into animals thanks to the teachings of the Wild Gods. Nature.

While yes there has always been a shared trait of transformation across classes, each one has stayed within their spheres of influence.

This mount goes against that, by giving each class the ability to transform using Nature magic which has always been established to be the realm of Druids.

Not a fan of absolute statements like that, because they statistically can’t be possible. There is never going to be a case of everyone agree/disagreeing on something, so using such a statement is invalid.

I cared when they put portals everyone. It took away from the value of Mages.
Same when they added summoning stones as it took away from the value of Warlocks.

Going against the fact that when a shaman is locked out of nature school, they can’t use ghostwolf. It’s a nature spell

What tf are u crying about :joy:get past yourself, it’s not changing. You of all people

Gameplay mechanic =/= lore
The game doesn’t have a spirit magic school implemented which is why they assign it to nature instead.
Also Shaman don’t legitimately transform like Druids do. Their bodies become incorporeal and their spirits are what take on the shape of a wolf.

the mount is not lore is gameplay mechanic tho, in lore that wild god didnt blessed anyone with the shapechange unless they actually put that in a book or is referenced somewhere in the actual lore.

stuff players do, especially secrets, are not lore, the druids dont go to firelands to kill fandral and learn firecat form, its just something blizz gave players that just like this mount doesnt break lore or canon but doesnt really make sense for everyone to have ofc

Why would it be? What kind of god would be so weak as to only be able to give their blessings to someone with a very specific job?

All that matters is your having met the requirement to receive said blessing. Maybe Elune wants you to have been a druid for 40 levels or whatever, but this bird wanting something else is fine.

Not all druids get their power from the Emerald Dream. Every race of druid gets their power from a different place and therefore turn into different things.

Night Elf Bird isn’t the same as Zandalari Bird, or even Kul Tiran Bird. Only a Night Elf Druid can turn into the type of owl that a Night Elf Druid turns into.

You provably do not understand what the lore even is and have no coherent argument for why this is even a minor annoyance beyond standard issue petulance.
