I appreciate all of you who showed interest, but because of the drama a few have started this event is no longer able to be run. I apologize for the last minute cancellation, thank you for your support.
Wasn’t this yesterday?
Didn’t this event already happen? Or do people still think it’s okay to rip-off someone else’s idea entirely? Stay classy.
I think we have room on the server for differing interpretations of the same event, plus it’s on a different day of the week so different people might have a chance to attend. Really, unless the host of the other event complains, I think we can cut some slack.
The only thing that worries me is being invited to an Alliance event involving sacrifice by a blood elf…
The fact that it’s a blood elf posting the event was the only thing that gave room for pause with me, but from amusement.
As far as similarities in events, does it really matter? I attended the other event with my main and now I’m able to take my alt to the other. To me, that’s a great thing.
I see many events held around the same time, same holidays, and similar themes. I don’t see it as an issue, really, if someone else wants to host an event for the general public. It doesn’t look like it’s an exact copy of it, for that matter. I was there. If you don’t want to go, that’s okay. I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciate the initiative and will attend.
As a member of the Runaway Theater Troupe, An entertainment guild, who works both events, I am happy to inform you that this group contacted us first. So the insinuation that they are copying an idea or previous event is assumption and not fact. Also, their request of us is completely different. As we were hosting an improv booth for the other event. This event we were requested something completely different. Origin Story of Elune. The event organizer that I have been working with is extremely kind and provided us the information to work with. And I have been excited that there is some Lore knowledge and education going on with this event for Rpers, like me, who do not know about it. Hope to see people there and enjoying the event!
And there you have it. Moral of the story, good event RP is hard to find, and we’re quite lucky to have people on our server who are willing to do all the cat-herding required for setting it up (sure not my strong suit!), so more support and fewer aspersions, please.
Still worried about the belf though.
How does one go about having a booth at the event?
The Lunar Festival a world-wide holiday that honors ancestors of both the Horde and Alliance (as well as several unplayable races), and is open to everyone. No one complains about all those Winter’s Veil or Love Is In The Air parties, at least as far as I know (and if they do, they oughta cut it out), and anything that’s based on world events with lore and structure is going to be pretty similar - we’re all working off the same base, after all. These events take a lot of hard work and a lot of energy and coordination, and I applaud those who are willing to put themselves and their guilds out there to make a fun event for folks to enjoy (and side-eye the heck out of folks who turn up and then are rude about them). And not everyone can attend any one event. I couldn’t get to the one on Saturday until it was almost over because RL, y’all, come on, so more events means more people will be able to find one they can attend! The more lunar festivals the better as far as I’m concerned, and I’m hoping to be able to attend this one!

Huh, interesting. I did -not- know this. This is a very, -very- fascinating piece of information to be aware of.
Can’t wait!
Event has been cancelled, but thank you for the support. <3
I hope to see something similar be hosted for the horde side!
From what Seasen said, it sounds pretty cool!
I have no clue where all the drama is from, I must of missed a forum post the other day, but hopefully it can be resolved!
Events keep the server alive, active, and fun!
It’s a shame this event got cancelled. Let the grouch-pusses of the forum have their opinion because they’re usually starved for drama anyways. Next time I hope you go through with your event because just know, the small minority that posts here is not the majority that’s in the game and more than happy to participate even in the same even over again! There are people in this world that go to the same fair multiple times a week it’s in town or go watch the same movie two or three times before it gets taken out of theater.
I’m sorry to hear that this event was canceled, I was looking forward to going. Having that said, I can’t blame you either. Creating and hosting events take a lot of time and hard work, and it’s an entirely unselfish thing. To have people spread negative things around such a positive commitment is awful, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Like the poster above me said, next time I hope you will go through with it anyway because I would have loved to attend <3
Always makes me sad to see events canceled due to drama…don’t let us forum goers get you down! We are a…passionate, if not frequently misinformed and prone to knee jerk reactions and judgement lot.
More importantly, the jerks on the forums are a minority of players.
Well, [redacted]. But I still want to know about the blood elf!
What was this thread before it was canceled?
It was another lunar festival, but with a different emphasis than the one a few days ago.
You mean the Pandaren New Years one? Pretty sure that was Alliance side only so Horde could totally have their own if they wanted.
