They might. The RTS format seems to be really big on Mobile Devices these days. That is one of the big reasons behind the acquisition. Without COD Mobile and Candy Crush, I doubt it would have gotten this far.

microsoft wants COD to put as a first party title for their gamepass, sure, but microsoft isnt buying activision to be a massive profit driver alone, so the odds they buy it then ramp UP monetization is fairly low, much lower than if ATVI is just left in charge.
they build, updated, and give out flight simulator without likely ever seeing any profit back. they are pretty hands off with their studios, which is good or bad depending on how you take that… but without the massive “profit at all cost” pressure IF the guiding force for wow was actually trying to make something great, microsoft is likely the far better bet.
Nah, they are buying ATVI to make COD a first party title so its free for gamepass users, since the extras sold in game will help offset this and its likely to tip the console scales more in microsofts favor and get more people on gamepass.
When you spend 70+ billion on a company, you sure as hell won’t be relying on this to keep your coffers and investors happy… Microsoft is a company that will lead these games into MTX heaven lmao, to think other wise is cute.
All this is heading towards mobile and monetized out the wazoo.
