Of all the bad story decision they have made over the last few expansion, something that have so little importance in a expansion like this somehow feel like the final nail in the coffin for wow lore.

There is absolutely no reason for them to do that since it doesnt even have any impact on the expansion story. It really just feel like the devs wanted us to know that they can do whatever they want with the story. It is plain power trip with no respect with warcraft lore.

Or just used the Argent Crusade.

No reason, really.

The writers just decided that, for whatever reason, that he’s SUPER chummy with Danath Trollbane now after hurling slurs at eachother in the Arathi warfront in BfA. So in Blizzards’ consistent need to humiliate the Horde since that expansion, he’s now suddenly a member of the Alliance legacy Orc-killing veterans club.

And in case anyone doubts the above being the case, he spends Midnight helping Turalyon’s pals murder orcs for pieces of Turalyon’s old shield. Blackrock Orcs, specifically.

Thats because the writers are alliance fans, and extremely biased.

they want to use only alliance characters and alliance organizations.

But, hey, doing that would be TOO ON THE NOSE, so they shove a token orc character to make horde people shut up("see??? there is an orc in there, so its not just alliance!1!!) It is what they did by putting Thrall in TWW, absolutely useless moron, only serving as a token.

But, Blizzard has grow spiteful, just shoving a horde there isnt enough, they had to strip Eitrigg from his CHIEFTAIN OF THE BLACKROCK CLAN POSITION, and rename him “sons of lothar”

Im pretty sure they are foaming that they had to change the quest that had us to desecrate Garrosh grave and are taking revenge in other way

I never cared much for Etrigg. In my view, he was always the kind of character who disappears the moment things get tense. That’s something my friends and I used to joke about a lot. We joked that if he had ever been added to Heroes of the Storm back when the game was still supported, his D ability (his trait) would have been placing bushes, just so he could hide every time things got serious. That’s how I always perceived him.

Even so, I never truly hated Etrigg. He was more of a running joke than anything else.

What Blizzard’s writers are doing to him now, however, is absolutely infuriating. Turning an orc into a loyal member of an Alliance organization that historically exists to fight and kill orcs makes no sense whatsoever. The sudden claim that the Sons of Lothar now stand for tolerance feels like a blatant rewrite of established lore. It’s painfully obvious that Blizzard refuses to portray their beloved blue faction in a negative light.

As if that weren’t bad enough, Etrigg is now leading the Blackrock clan while killing orcs for his Alliance allies. His so-called friendship with Danath feels completely forced especially considering that they were trying to kill each other not that long ago.

I don’t hate Etrigg as a character. I hate what Blizzard’s writers have turned him into. This isn’t character development, it’s lazy writing that ignores years of established lore in favor of shallow faction favoritism.

Blizzard should change this, or Etrigg should be removed from leadership of the Blackrock clan and banished.

I wonder how Lothar would feel about an Orc running around claiming to be one of his sons?

It seems to me that Danath will likely be killed by Marran and some villainous Arathi, and the Horde Players would have little reason to care UNLESS he showed some semblance of humanity. If Danath was a Horde hating bigot all day, Horde Players would just be like “good - one less enemy” if he is killed by the Arathi.

So now he and Eitrigg are chummy and on good terms. Now the Horde can be like: “well at least Danath was working with us - the Arathi trying to take over won’t be as wiling to share the land”

The only thing I felt a little bad about doing as a Loyalist in BfA was dragging him around Org. Of all the genociding and civilian massacres and corpse desecration, confronting Eitrigg and dragging him around was the only time I was thinking: “I don’t like doing this”

I don’t think he was stripped of his position as Blackrock Chieftain. The Blackrocks we face aren’t in the Horde, so wouldn’t recognize Eitrigg’s authority. However it is extremely disappointing that Eitrigg didn’t have his Blackrock forces with him and I find him joining the Sons of Lothar bizarre and dumb at best.

I really think that they are trying to turn the Sons of Lothar into some Second War veteran thing over an Alliance Second War Veteran thing. Let the Horde Second War Veterans have their own thing and keep the Sons Alliance.

He isnt, but they removed his tag ingame.

The NPCs always have a little title/tag under their name to represent then. Like Thrall , usually obviously, the most important title is up.

This show they think being part of the cringe sons of lothar is more important than his position as chieftain of one of the biggest and important orcish clans still alive today

Its madness

very blatantly they are trying to whitewash the organziation and make it as a neutral-ish-alliance leaning thing, but tis crap
