I donât think you understand. I have seen normal group posts asking for rank 2-3 essences for a normal. Gear isnât the problem. Itâs the crutch of the essences that make people not want to play anymore. Iâve started several alts to pass the time and to find a new main, but as soon as I hit the essences I spend a couple hours unlocking cloak and a couple essences to get rid of the notification then I donât want to play it anymore because looking forward to another 2-3 months worth of grind (due to work I canât play wow half the week) and with my limited time itâs something I donât want to do again.

Considered going resto on my druid alt until i saw the best essences. As with most healers, it needs mechagon rep, nazjatar rep, and conflict and strife.
Just do be competitive in 8.3 pve, i need to farm 8.2 reps and pvp. I really hate the essence system.

Not entirely false. As a tank, thereâs a ton of mechanics that I donât have to deal with. Running alts of a different spec could mean you have to relearn the fight.

Thatâs the actual problem is that your characters power is tied behind some boring world quest that no one who actually wants to gear their toon. If reputation grinding didnât take so long then it wouldnât be that bad of a system. Before you say âwell its just world quest its only 20 minutesâ thatâs the problem with it out of the 24 hours we have on this earth we can only spend 20 minutes of it getting essences. Why canât I just play PvE and PvP without being forced to do dailies. Why is almost all the essences locked behind some daily wall meanwhile you can infinitely farm honor through bgs and AP through islands, the system in inconsistent and terrible. You say oh its only x amount of DPS so its not that big of a deal is the same thing as saying âoh you only gave me half of the gold I ask for its only 50K gold its not that big of a deal.â Why do you guys hate when people want to min/max their own toon without all these stupid walls. If I wanât to spend 5hrs of my day grinding out reputation instead of 20 minutes it would make the system better without a doubt. Granted my essences that are a huge and vital part to my kit shouldnât be tied to dailies and should be tied into the actual game PvP,PvE

Look, I donât mind the rep essences, cause you end up having to get it anyway through AP grind and the like. But the raid essences⊠jesus.

Yall on here trying to use advanced techniques to figure why we SHOULD have account wide essences. Remember before they made reputation effects account wide? How long did that take of people complaining about it?
Maybe you actually think you do want account wide essences, but this time you actually donât.
Think for one second about how little youâd have to do ingame before you are afking in a major city with nothing left to grind on your altâŠ
The issue here is we are missing some kind of cosmetic reward in BFA to encourage the alt grind (like mage tower in legion)

Ok lets compare what a max level toon in bfa and classic can do off the daily and weekly resets please someone correct me if im wrong!

Attunements, can be grinded indefinitely
Honor Farm, can be grinded indefinitely
Dungeons, Iâm pretty sure theres a instance lock so canât be grinded indefinitely
Raids instance, locked
World Bosses, I think daily locked not to sure
Thats all I can think off from classic now onto retail

Dailies in KT and Zand, locked by the day
Dailies in Mechagnome in Nazjatar, locked by the day
Dailies in Uldum and Vale, locked by the day

you notice how most of the essences are locked behind reputation and all the reputation is locked behind dailies and well who woulda guessed dailies you can only do for the day
Nah I actually wanât them so I can play the game I want to and not be forced to play something else.
I always have something to do I enjoy pvp and mythic+ my problem with the âgrindâ is that there is no grind once i do my 3 follower dailies for nazjatar for lucid dreams I canât do anything else, I have to wait until tomorrow, there is literally no grind to that. Its just blizzard restricting playtime for no other reason then making the game longer and getting more sub time and âplayer engagementâ from me.
EDIT : I should add that at least make R4 account bound, no one cares about your R4 Cosmetic it adds nothing not a single souls is like oh damn son he got a R4 Flames. At least make that accoutn bound.
Then go play classic? You are comparing a version of the game thatâs 15 years old

I mean I agree with you there should be a mage tower type thing in BFA but my point still stands my powerspikes shouldnât be locked behind dailies. Iâm not asking for the entire world to be handed out to me I just want account bound essences if you hit rank 4 or make reputation grind an actual grind and not âWell you need about 39000 reputation to get this brand new spankin essence thats crucial to your toon so how about we give you 300 reputation a day and call it a night B) see you tomorrowâ
Asking blizzard to properly put out content that actually just lets you play the game and get upgrades⊠hmmm
Maybe old blizz would have done this, but not nowadays. If you look between the lines they have someone doing a full time job making these systems to keep players âengagedâ for their metrics. And by engaged I mean doing a crapload of content you donât âwantâ to do so you can get to the fun part.
Maybe the issue is the game just isnât designed to be fun most of the time you play it, at least in classic you can just go play.
