I just got booted as well, can’t load character list on Moonguard.
It doesn’t say that the server is down when I try to log in to my Illidan chars, it just says error retrieving character list.

yeah I can get back in eventually but then it just disconnects me again. enough. 3 drops in 10 minutes. have fun

I think it’s the server mice… this is what happens when you try and re-purpose good employees to subscription fodder. Everyone, give back your mount until they can sort out the power needs of the world servers…

Likewise. Got kicked from my Demon Hunter, tried to load back in, get told Char already exists. Log into my Rogue, log out to log back into my DH, and now everything’s on a greyscale and nothing is loading outside of the BFA emblem, the char scroll bar, and the greyed-out log in button. Continues not to work.
Suspecting they’re getting Ddos’ed.
Edited: Just got back in after downloading a small patch, but it kicked my DH back to the portal room in SW, from Blackrock Mountain.

We are currently investigating the reason why players are unable to retrieve the character list in World of Warcraft! Will update you all when I have some more information.

Same. Duskwood… the game has crashed several times over the past couple of hours now there is an error retrieving character list
Looks like Zul’jin just went down as well
hopefully not another 3 hour fix…
Also having this issue, was dced handing in a quest, lets me log in but when I try to log my character I am also getting the errors " Character with this name already exists " - On Argent Dawn

Turalyon server here. Just logged off of my rogue alt (was fine while leveling for an hour) to switch to my mage to buy some bags for him. Went to the AH, tried to buy a bag and got disconnected. Can’t log back in. It appears that I’m not the only one experiencing issues, which makes me feel a bit better.
Same thing happened to me - was just about to hand in my assault quest and bam d/c and then character does not exist - world server down and now stuck on loading screen.
Didn’t have much time tonight so of course I can’t finish what I started.
Servers have been very laggy since patch - they keep on putting too many people in a shard doesn’t help.
Odd I can’t get into Stormrage and Malfurion but I can get into Tichondrius and Illidian.

ddos attack.
Was just doing LFR, killed Azshara, clicked on the chest and DC’d. Trying to log back in, I’m met with a grey “Enter World” button and then the error, "Error Retrieving Character List’

I have the same issue as well on Stormrage. It has various issues besides this. I’ve gotten “Character name already in use” as well or game is froze loading around 75%. This all started after a disconnect of game to install a minor fix or whatever you all decided to change…this needs to stop!
