Heeeeeeeeeell no. The last thing any spec of shaman needs is to be further forced into this antithetical choice of “only fire” vs “only lightning.” Stormstrike is the single most iconic attack in Enhancement’s kit, and the answer to it being sadly relegated to filler in the Elementalist build is not to strip it from us entirely.
Even more no. Being forced into Ascendance regardless of build would make me miserable.
The answer to Enhancement’s issue is not divorcing the spec even harder from itself. It’s unifying the spec by ditching the physical vs elemental division that DF randomly hoisted on us which splits the spec in mutually exclusive halves. This division is the biggest limiting factor in Enhancement builds, as it renders one half or the other of the tree useless depending on which Feral Spirit form you’re running, which further compounds the abysmal All or Nothing nature of the Elementalist vs Storm divide wherein players overwhelmed by Elementalist have no options for reducing the rotational complexity because all the simplifying talents they could take are Physical, while anyone bored out of their mind by Storm can’t increase their complexity by taking any of the more active Elemental talents.
