Make Enhancement Shamans Great (again?)
I have just completed my Shadowlands leveling journey as an enhancement shaman and can’t help but think about the possible improvements that could be made to the spec. Please feel free to comment your own suggestions.
My main issue with enh shaman for a long while has been its survivability and totems. We can pump out solid dps but we are the first melee to go down if we make one wrong step. Totems used to be this amazing class fantasy that has gone to the wayside and are now boring and clunky to use.
Survivability
Static field - lighting shield is useless. Add a stacking buff called static field that has a chance of being applied when hit. Abilities such as stormstrike, crash lightning, lightning bolt and chain lighting add a stack of static field. Each stack of static field causes the shaman to take less damage. Static field charges drop over time. This would be great in PVP and a useful passive damage reduction during PVE content.
Feral Lunge Immunity - Why do we still take damage when jumping over stuff? Would be a good escape in mythics.
Feral Spirit - Please bring back healing while Feral Spirit is active
Totems
Global Cooldown - Make totems of different types (earth/water etc) not share a GCD. It’s so awful to spend the time at the beginning of a pull putting down totems when you could be doing something useful. Just let us put down a set of totems that fit the fight quickly like in the old days.
More Utility - Simple, add more totems. Make us masters of utility. Bring back Cleansing Totem, Wind Walk Totem, even stupid ones like Sentry totem for BGs so you can engage. Also take others out of PVP talents, let us be the swiss army knife of utility like we are meant to be.
Please comment on what changes you would love to see to enh shaman or the class as a whole. Meant to be a fun discussion, not a rant or a plead to Blizzard .
