If rumors are true, we will have a hostile faction on the other side of Azeroth, and we’re all sailing straight into it.
I think that detente works. Think of it this way, historically, Germany and France have always bickered, and things got funky a few decades ago. And I’m purposefully glossing over a lot of detail, because the details don’t matter at this time). Now, the two countries are allies, but they are still separate entities, and they still trash-talk each other. You can have the Horde and Alliance basically be “frenemies” (the 60s had a ton of Cold War movies where the US and Russia had a frenemy situation).
If we recall the Mists’ video, where the Horde and Alliance characters instantly joined forces when an unknown “hostile” engaged with them, I think that when up against a common enemy, the two factions are more than capable of cooperating – and as BfA proved, players don’t want to be int he middle of the war, rather they want the war to be in the background (like Indiana Jones). Trash talking each other while focusing against a common foe is absolutely doable, even without Dragonflight to act as a deescalation.
This is why I keep saying that Blizzard is missing a HUGE opportunity with the Argent Tournament. Back in the Middle Ages, when there was some effort to keep countries from attacking each other on the regular, there was an agreement that the combat would be “proxy fought” via tournament. This kept the “spares” (the younger sons) occupied, and people tend to love violent sport. So the Argent Crusade, to try and reinforce “Pax Azeroth” takes the tournament on the road. Each month you have the Argent Tournament show up at one of the capitals, where you would have the same kinds of activities, and earn points to buy both old and new goodies. I mean, the conceit is perfectly set up for this, and having the Argent Tournament travel would be a nice homage to the Darkmoon Fair, which used to travel. This then also encourages players to go to all the cities, not just Orggrimar and Stormwind. You can even have the host city provide some kind of flavor to the tournament for that month.

I represent the good ppl from murder hobo island
I will be surprised if they somehow start and all out war with say factions like humans vs gnomes vs night elves. That would be pretty interesting to me.
Race specific quest lines, gear, mounts, etc. All stemmed off old god deceptions

100% the esports mindset has ruined the game and continues to do so (hello season 2 affixes and loot changes).
Honestly, we need a war again screw this carebear stuff.

There is a war.
Just not H vs A
A Vulpera and a Night Elf should be able to hook up without you judging them!
Joking aside, we can have a war that’s not HvA.
I think they should start a civil war within both factions and make it complicated so we can have a REAL pvp expansion! Maybe have some alliance join with some Horde but then have plot twists and fights that break out across ALL expansions weekly with awesome world pvp achievements, mounts and player housing etc.

Look at his guild name!
He’s a loyalist! Not really Horde either!

I would end the war between the Horde and Alliance, and start a war between those who wear shoes and those who don’t.

True, everyone hates gnomes.

What common enemies have the Argent Crusade and the scourge joined forces against? When did the truce, or truces between the Kirin’Tor and the Burning Legion occur?
I must have missed those patches.

They were merely examples how silly the idea of Alliance and Horde joining forces are. But I can list many reasons why them not joining makes sense.
- Theramore Bombing
- Burning of Teldrassil (unresolved)
- Destruction of Darkshore (unresolved)
- South Shore War Crimes (unresolved)
- Massacre of Druid Initiates in Stonetalon (unresolved)
- Enslavement of Gnomes in Ashenvale
- Destruction of Ashenvale
- Plague Bombing Lordaeron (might be resolved)
- Plague Bombing Gilneas (unresolved)
- Turning Azshara (The zone not the NPC) into a Horde symbol (screw you Blizzard)
- Forcibly turning Night Elves and others into Undead
- Bombing Gnomer, for the second time (has nothing to do with the Horde, just think it’s a dumb trope at this point)
Those the ones I can think of off the top of my head. BuT wE aRe At PeAcE. Yes yes, we were at peace at the end of WotLK and war erupted after. Why? I know people don’t like story but let’s list the reasons.
- Diminishing resources for Orgrimmar
- Tension between the Night Elves and Orcs
- On going tension that erupted into battle across the various battlegrounds (Specifically Alterac Valley) Why? For needed resources and territory.
- Conflict of claim to Stromgarde
- Gilneas opening up gave Horde reason to invade to establish a naval base to have a foothold against the Alliance
There are MANY reasons why the Horde and Alliance have a tenuous peace and why those peace have failed every single time. There are a ton of unresolved disputes and conflicts that ramped up war between them.
Now, Blizzard doing a poor job over BfA and Shadowlands is another matter. However, there are still a ton of unresolved conflicts and disputes that would easily cause more war.

if you want another faction war, please leave me out of it.
The entire foundation of this fantasy world game is based on an RTS of faction WAR, that’s why it’s called WARCRAFT.
Where do these people come from? Why are they in a game based on War? I just don’t get it.

Is this just a rhetorical question or do you actually want to know the road that brought me to WoW and what led me to settle here?
It’s a rhetorical question. I’d prefer you and ALL the players/devs sharing the same opinion would just unsubscribed and find a different mmo based on hugs and rainbows, instead of ruining this war based MMO.
Yikes. Well, to turn the other cheek, I don’t want you to unsubscribe. I’d like to find a way we can both have the gameplay and lore we enjoy within this shared world. I still believe it’s big enough for the both of us.
