Nothing sucks more than doing a raid of any level and obtaining no items. Or losing a roll to someone who you think didn’t need ot as much as you. That’s if it even drops at all.
Here’s the general idea…
At the end of the dungeon or raid there will be a chest similar to the vault. It will have items you can choose from that drop off the bosses you kill. You get to choose one from the list. Raids are locked weekly so it will limit items to a once a week slow burn. This will also limit players leaving mid raid if they didn’t get a certain item from the few few bosses. Players can get items they want without having to compete against RNG. I personally have not won a raid item since DF. Not a single item in this expansion. RNG is the worst it feels horrible.
I think people don’t understand how easy it is to get geared these days compared to how it was 18 years ago. Not everybody got loot. Not everybody got a token. Not everybody walked out of their smiling with an upgrade. The system hasn’t changed, but the players have. Blizzard has made it far easier on everybody and now that participation trophy has come home to roost. I blame the vault. here’s some free gear just for doing what you’re supposed to do.
That’s what Dinars are for Mr gnome. I’m trialing for a guild and when we killed m Gally there was 0% chance I would get the ring that is BIS for everyone so I got mythic jastors with my dinar!
We already have a guaranteed weekly piece of gear as a participation trophy. It’s the Great Vault.
You’re just asking to choose from the loot table instead of getting random items.
I don’t totally disagree. I think the Vault should be much smarter than it is. It should be able to tell that I’m actively trying to upgrade a couple remaining pieces of Veteran gear and offer one to me.
Currently no. I did some raiding in DF mostly LFR, Normal, and i think 1 heroic. But I was always losing rolls and never able to get gear I needed. If I’m going to apend 45 minutes doing something I’m gonna need some loot. Maybe instead of snooping on someones profile and assuming just ask them. No need to come off like a jag.
Yeah that’s not bad idea. But I don’t want to do three weeks to get a single piece of hero gear. I’m not upset about loot level. I’m disappointed at the rate things drop, how you don’t always get gear after spending over 40 minutes in a dungeon. Stones and crests are not a incentive for me.
I like then vault a lot. It definitely allows me to gear up pretty good for the solo play I do. But I consider that a bonus for playing the game. I shouldn’t have to wait a week to get something I earned after the raid or dungeon.
Doing the quest the first time gives you 3 Dinars. That’s a piece.
Yeah, you get your free loot in the Vault on Tuesday for killing the bosses.
Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m not trying to be mean, but you’re 640. I’ve been getting alts to 650 in 4-5 hours after hitting 80 and the only group content involved is the 4 LFR bosses for the Dinar hero piece.
What I’m saying is there are alternative, solo, and faster ways to gear up than just relying on raid. Everyone else in that raid has the same claim to the loot as you. Everyone put effort into killing the bosses, you’re not special just for being behind the curve. The Vault is bad luck protection for runs where you don’t win rolls.
Delves are decent for gearing as well. But it’s also about mogs. If I’m doing a raid on any level and participating I shouldn’t have to roll against 10 other warrior or DPS class that might need the same weapon. Wouldn’t the easier solution to walk away with something you came to get?
Join a guild filled with players that have the same goals as you. I promise you, you will get gear much faster than just trying to out roll randoms in LFR.
I’m not a guild guy. the guild I’m currently in is my own creation for me and my alts. When I hop on I just want to do my own thing.
are we talking about “Turbo Boost”? The current system that gives you three coins to buy one item. Then you can only get one coin per week. I stopped after I got the first three. I’m not overly concerned with Ilevel I primarily want the look.
I would settle for a vendor who sold all the available mogs for legacy and current that you could buy with gold. The vendor shouldn’t have a special coin, stone, or anything… Just gold.
Just a heads up but you can keep running the dinar queat after you turn it in. Once i did the one for the 3 coins the next quest for the single became avaliable, and after i did that i was able to do the quest again.
