He is good at the system that is in place. You are bad at the system that is in place. If you try, as I did, maybe you can git gud as well. I know it sounds overwhelming and hard at first, but you too can play in good premades if you improve little by little, rank up a bit and get to know your server’s rankers. They don’t bite.
I don’t believe you’re the right person to be giving out that type of advice, maybe someone that has gone through it instead. But it is good advise that you should heed!
Remember, next time you’re at the graveyard and the timer on that BG is about to hit 6 minutes. Don’t hit cancel and put some effort into it!
you think i got carried? bro i was carrying my entire team. i was soloing drek thar while they were taking graveyard. i top dps AND heals. they wanted me to come back but out of the love for my fellow man i stayed back and let both sides have a chance.
Non-neckbeard advice is not welcome here man. Be toxic please!
If you are angry about the system now, wait until arena comes out in TBC, it is a much better system.
I got to Rank 13 back in summer of 2006 and I admit that the matchmaking system in Vanilla/Classic is horrible, even back then, about 90% of our games were against pugs, yea they were easy games but it was barely PvP. Doing this for 15+ hrs a day wasn’t what I had in my mind back when I decided to start ranking. The only time PvP actually happened was when we ran into another premade, also there were no crossrealms back then so we had rivalries and those games were always fun but it barely happened because we just got pitted against pugs.
Classic PvP was never really about skill lol, it was more just having a team, vent, and a whole lotta time on your hands.
In BC, some of the old HWL/GM’s from my server formed 2s/3s teams and could barely obtain a 2k+ rating and none of them ever got Glad. I formed a team with my cousins and we got up to 2200+ on 3s and my cousins never even ranked in Vanilla. This system worked, in arenas you had to be in a team, you were matched against teams with similar ratings, and you couldn’t use outside consumables (if i remember correctly). This is in my opinion, what the BG system should have been like in Vanilla. It would have made ranking much more meaningful and more competitive because it would force you to be in a team and actually PvP against other teams. Rankers in Classic aren’t any more skilled than most people, they’re just better at finding groups.
Except raiding rewards you even though you only have to show up once a week for that. And the content is cleared in under 2 hours (per raid) with very little effort. Hell id argue the people who pug the content every week are putting in more effort than the people in guilds
Very well put sir. I agree with your statement 100%.
Obviously good groups will me more successful. Nobody is arguing that. Take a look at this from an arena prospective, obviously a 2400 team is better than an 1800 team and deserves to be rewarded as such. But do people who only do skirmishes deserve the gear and rewards that a 2400 player gets even they win all the time? Skirmishes are unranked pug games, the level of competition is nowhere close to high level ranked arenas, and they don’t deserve the same rewards. Same way LFR drops worse gear than mythic raids.
If you seperate out premades then pugs should get ZERO honor, because they’re not playing at the same level as premades.
No they dont youre right. But if you think that a pug can even put up the numbers a premade group can in a week then you are delusional. Anyone pugging bgs is hitting r11 tops even if you separate the queues
You see the issue for your comparison here?
I think putting the whole quote makes his argument much better than quoting a quote within his argument
Depends on the pug, and depends on the premade. The best groups are gunna be the best regardless of what changes blizz could make. But to my above example does the pug deserve the same rewards as the 1800 group, or even a 1500 group? I’d still say no, if everyone is competing for the same rewards you cant seperate premades out to make it “fair”. That makes it solo queuers are having a good time, but you’ve just ruined the experience for less serious players who still make “premades” with friends and guildies.
Your question is dependent on the difference in gear.
In the case of classic r12+ gear (including the weapons) are VASTLY superior to r10 gear. So while yes initially you are “competing for the same rewards” theres a whole second set of rewards that will be unattainable to pugs
If anything separating it will make it so that only REALLY good premades will get r14 instead of mediocre premades that are just better than pugs 90% of the day
That’s a good point. But seperate queues also mean the best pugs would rise as well. The reason pugs have no hope of getting past rank 10-11 is because they can’t beat premades. If those are out of the picture it makes it so solo queuing is better honor, unless you’re a really good premade, mediocre premades will cease to exist because those players would be better off just solo queueing. Seperate but equal is inherently unequal, I’d say the supreme court is a pretty good source to quote.
Which could just be resolved by increasing honor gains for premades to ensure that if they are winning more they are getting more honor than pugs.
Premades are fine - remove things like faps and invul pots from bg’s. When you get a r12+ pm using them on every single game its absurd.
i kinda agree with this. The only problem is this changes a core game mechanic more than separating queues. Because if youre removing faps and lips then they should change more things about how druids can flag carry and swap forms to break half the cc forms in the game
True i dont want core mechanics of the game changed - just venting.
theyre also dead since the east/west servers split
I love your post. Pretty sure they’ll skip over it because you nailed it.
