I have really been frustrated to read a book series or watch a tv series that I enjoyed so much only to have them ruin the ending.
When I first started playing wow, I didn’t pay attention to the story much at all. I just enjoyed the play, battlegrounds, environment, etc. Eventually I started paying more attention to the story and got involved with it and found frustration with some of the way they chose to go with story and lore. Retconning killed it for me. I pay attention to story now but not with deep connection, or at least I try not to get too emotionally attached anymore.
