I mean… Wotlk pre patch is not TBC classic lol.
It was lifted in wotlk.

Stop spreading this trash.
Faction lock was removed with wotlk when they added faction swap to the store.
@Deathsbounty
Your claim is false, go ahead and do some research to fact check me
Blizzard Entertainment removed the restriction preventing players from creating both Horde and Alliance characters on the same PvP realm in Burning Crusade Classic on June 22, 2022.
The pre-patch for Wrath of the Lich King Classic was released on August 30, 2022, in the United States. The full expansion officially launched on September 26, 2022
LOL yeah man, June 22, 2022. SWP Phase 5 came out May 10, 2022.
The game was over by June 22 bro. AKA, prepatch was on its way.
Extremely disingenuous to say “They released it during TBC!!” when it was at the very end of the game when most ppl quit until WOTLK launch.
There is a MASSIVE difference between Phase 1,2,3 of TBC and well after p5 launch when most ppl quit lol
@DeathsBounty His claim is not false, stop throwing a fit because you don’t agree with someone. Adding this restriction is doing nothing other than putting it behind a $15 a month paywall, it’s already possible to have both horde and alliance factions on the same pvp server if you sub multiple accounts.
Players are going to swap factions if they want to and will find a way to do so. Whether that means deleting all toons and re-rolling, or subbing another account and letting their other account sub expire. Players have and will always find a way to get what they want.
Adding Layers on a pvp server inherently make it unbalanced already, Find a layer swarming with the opposite faction??? just layer until you find a layer with yours… PVP servers are not as they were 20 years ago and adding the restriction to stop players from playing with friends on both factions just adds another layer of “reasons to stop playing” as people ultimately get burnt out and start quitting the game. “Oh shoot, all my friends are done raiding on horde??? all my friends are raiding ally… dang guess I can’t play with them… guess i’ll quit too.”
It still wasn’t the Wrath pre-patch, so you’re wrong.
However, he’s also wrong saying he wants Blizz to move it up ‘a few months’. It was a year into TBC Classic, and Anniversary is a year away from TBC Classic still.
I would love to hear some legitimate well though out reasons as to “why not” on this post… all we’re getting is…
“No…” - Ok?
“collusion” - already happening
“unbalance” - already happening through layers…
no.
people would just create characters on one faction (alliance) to make the factions look balanced so they could create characters on other faction (horde)
we know that faction balance is already leaning heavily horde that’s why you cannot create a horde character at the moment, adding fuel to that fire would destroy the alliance faction, and make the point of playing on a pvp server moot for the horde.
if you really insist on having characters on opposite factions ask for another pvp server
this change had to happen in TBC because so many servers were abandoned blizzard needed for force transfer people and they had to allow for the possibility of force transfering characters to servers where the same player already had characters of the opposite faction. since there is only one pvp server and one pve server if they become abandoned the game is done.
AKA fund alts across faction boundries.
i don’t know how the @#$% you think this is the case, but it is absolutely not.
all retail servers are pve servers there’s no precedent here.
Horde creation isn’t locked on Nightslayer. Every time I look it’s never locked. And I don’t have any characters there.
I’m looking at the character creation screen right now. It’s not locked.
Edit- It just locked for Horde. But give it a minute and it’ll probably unlock again.
the fact that you saw it go from open to closed in a 5 minute time span, and closed for the prediction faction, is more than enough to prove the population is leaning horde heavy.
removing the ability to balance the factions would be a disaster for a pvp server
But it can’t really go Horde heavy…because of the faction balancing. But it would without it…clearly.
I still think it’s dumb to have only 1 server. And not just because Megaservers are cancer that destroy the game. But because it’s silly people who want to play on a pvp realm can only play on one faction. There should be a minimum of two pvp servers, but keep the faction balancing.
But my hunch is Blizz prefers players having to pay for a second sub to play both factions.
All the more reason to allow horde players to create ally toons for TBC. As of right now, we’re all stuck… if it’s “Truly” unbalanced then allow horde players to switch if they would like…
sure i’d be ok with allowing which ever faction had more players the option to switch, but not both ways
LOL you literally hopped on a forum alt to act like a different person.
it is very obvious in the way you type, and that you are @ ing me like this is twitter that Savagzz (2 posts) and Fiives (5 posts) are the same person… LOL.
Just take the L bro.
Yeah i was technically wrong but the only reason they sped it up from WOTLK prepatch is because they needed to close a dozen servers from classic that were dead and the only way to successfully do that is to allow people to have ally and horde on the same server.
if they werent in rush to close all the dead servers, the faction lock would have been lifted in WOTLK prepatch.
AKA, they didnt lift the lock because “the good of the game!” they lifted because… we need to in order to server merge.
Well, you’re making your own assumptions.
Anyway, I’m just imagining all the crybabies who get ganked immediately logging on the opposite faction to scream at the person who killed them. What drama that would be.
better option: open a new PvP server
this is why only having 1 PvP server is flawed from the get go lol
