huh, that’s actually an interesting theory. I like it. I might even just accept it as my own head cannon.
That said, I’m still not sure how this saves blizzard time and money during covid.

They first told us this with the death of Kil’Jaeden. The thing is dying this way isn’t like going to shadowlands. It’s still abig deal because it cannot be reversed and your personality and memories are lost as you are a consciousness without any energy (anima) or matter to you. At some point maybe you’ll become a physical part of the universe again but it won’t have your memories it won’t be the same. Ursocs true essence can’t be destroyed but if he ever reforms he won’t be ursoc. Same with Kil’jaeden. So to the observer, to friends of ursoc. It makes no tangible difference in their lives because the ursoc they knew is gone forever.
Ah, that makes me it make sense, the base ‘energy’ of their essence is just energy that never is truly gone, but the ‘soul’ per se, the memories and being to who they are, is.
So the base ‘energy’ that made up Ursoc could be reused for something else, but who they were is forever gone, so as said might as well be the same regardless.
