Elon Plays Diablo (he is one of us)

Well sorry to disappoint but Space Karen is anything but, just a Narcissistic child of an Apartheid Miner who uses money to claim the successes of others as his own. All he’s done is build exploding rockets and death traps on wheels whilst constantly making false promises he knows he cannot keep.

You’re being rather unfair right now.

He’s been pretty successful at conning people into thinking Tesla is as valuable as it is. That amount of grift does take some technique.

I’m neither here not there on his social media crap, there’s only really one thing he’s doing right now that matters, he’s supporting Trump… that automatically cancels out any good he has done in the past.

I actually liked him originally, i liked what SpaceX was doing, i liked how he was advancing the penetration of EV’s into the world ahead of when they would have got there on their own. Then all of a sudden he’s spouting a bunch of fascist stuff and supporting/promoting/liking right wing crap on Twitter, maybe he was always bad and we just didn’t see it until then? or at least i didn’t lol

Oh yeah true will give him that he is definitely among the best and most successful of Scam Artists at this point like even scammed the US government into wasting money on his exploding rockets.

The funny thing is how heavily he’s on the government gravy-train, between government subsidies for EV purchases and government contracts for space launches.

I would be concerned

not because its elon, but because its a diablo player

You realize there is a very clear difference between the examples I highlighted and what you’ve done yes? This is why people don’t take Elon defenders seriously.

He censored a BBC article highlighting human rights abuses by Modi’s government, then he went on to further crackdown on free speech concerning other crap Modi’s been getting up to.

All Brazil told Musk to do was adhere to Brazil’s laws with regards to misinformation being spread, and Musk gave them the finger until the last days where Brazil would ban the platform from their country and he changed his tune. He was playing chicken with the Brazillian government and when they didn’t blink and swerve, he did.

Did he do the same thing with the Modi government and the BBC article censoring? No. Did he do the same thing with Turkey and censoring anti-erdogan posts/news in Turkey? No.

Please don’t be disingenuous.

I think there was a point where he was very close to crashing and burning if the next couple of booster tests didn’t land properly, i remember reading that he was very close to losing it all if the gamble didn’t pay off.

I think it’s really sad, I’m a huge space nerd and it actually made me tear up a little when those two boosters landed together that time, but now all i can see is what a horrible human being he is :disappointed_relieved:

We will never establish a sustained presence on mars while rockets depend on combustion.

Anyone telling you otherwise is a con-artist, or actually has no idea what a trip to mars and trying to live on mars would actually be like.

Going to Mars isn’t even a good idea. People just watch too many movies and haven’t been keeping up with the sciences.

Mars has no magnetic field, and we’ve known since 2008 when Phoenix landed (and then confirmed by Curiosity in 2015) that the surface is toxic. Not just freezing and almost airless… actually toxic.

If we’re going to Mars because it’s a relatively close rock, the Moon is better.

If we’re going to Mars for some other reason… look at Ganymede, instead. At least it has a magnetic field.

(We just launched 2 probes to the Jovian system, btw. NASA’s Europe Clipper launched last month, and ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer last year.)

I’d love to see a permanent moon base, even a massive telescope built into a crater! So much cooler than a space station just doing laps in orbit, and not so stupidly far away that we can’t get help to the people there if we really need to.

They’re making some awesome prototypes of 3D printers that combine water with moon dust and print out structures and such, although they’re probably better off just hunting for a preexisting cave, so many cool things in the near future for us. I think we’re all incredibly fortunate to be alive right now, to see so much change over such a short period of time.

To be fair, Mars has a LOT of resources we could use in high amounts. So if we go there at all and prepare colonies, that will be why, for the resources on the planet.

Mars has, according to various rover explorations and scans, a large amount of iron, titanium, aluminium, nickel, sulphur, chlorine, calcium and silicon dioxide. All resources we consume to make modern technologies. And that’s only from rover scans. Deep mining might reveal even more resources that we don’t even have on the periodic table.

But you are right that the Moon should be one of the first destinations we colonize if we’re going to do space colonies seriously. Especially since we’re still trying to get fusion reactors working, and one of the resources required for that to happen is readily available on the Moon, whereas on Earth it is… not as plentiful, to the point where most of the material is currently sitting in various nuclear arsenals around the world.

Elon is not trying to save it. Going to mars is fine but will not save us. If we can survive on mars then we can survive whatever we do to this planet. Elon is now going full tyrannical with his envisions for future societies. Says hes for 100% free speech yet agrees with Turkey and Hungary leaders to block opposition opinions on twitter. Blocked his internet in Ukraine to plz Putin. Says only certain men mainly himself should be breeding with women. Talks about the dangerous of AI yet now wants to put AI robots in everyone home to better monitor society. Yeah he believes a full Orwellian society is best.

Elon has become the enemy to freedoms.

They are both due to legal demand. India has a ban on BBC media. The difference is Musk acknowledged the failure and said it shouldn’t have happened, unlike you ignoring censorship you are in favor of. And for what it’s worth, BBC has a scandal of prejudice, censorship, and bias of its own regarding the Palestine situation :woman_shrugging:
The same happened with Erdogan, and twitter also censored content in Turkey before Musk took over. It was all due to legal demand lest he lose the market entirely.
You’re just picking and choosing which parts you’re pointing out because you’re the very partisan hack creating the problem.

Which is precisely what you’re criticizing him for, proving my very point. You want him to follow local laws but are critical when he is. And why would that be? Is it because you’re just cherry picking cases?

Look yourself in the mirror first.

there has to be viable reports China is putting a base there.

Voila mars program is a go!

Only after he was called out for it. He did not protest it at all. He didn’t even try. He simply censored it when asked (Modi didn’t even have to threaten him with his platform being cut off from India).

When you’re sorry for doing something only when you’re caught, that’s not you fighting for free speech, that’s only you trying to cover your own rear after you’ve made the mistake in the first place.

Anyway, I’m not going to debate with an Elon defender. Have a nice day.

They’re never going to forgive Elon for taking control of one of the key nodes of political discourse and removing their censorship apparatus. Same type of people who would snidely respond to complaints about the power of Twitter over national discourse by saying, “it’s a private company” and “you can build your own platform.”

Yup. The intellectual dishonesty of them in thinking their “receipts” are anywhere remotely comparable to how Twitter used to operate is comedic. I supposed they’re banking on their audience having amnesia for what the platform was like before him.

“See, Elon banned some guy who made fun of him, or put a temporary suspension on someone for posting a thing with unredacted addresses or partial social security numbers, that’s totally in the same league as banning a sitting president and making posts disagreeing with the CDC or doubting the integrity of an election a reportable offense.”

These are not honest people and they are very high on copium.

Elon is easily the most significant pro-freedom of speech agent on the world stage, and it isn’t even close. The guy could be a personal hypocrite, banning people left and right who mock him, and it still wouldn’t be close. And boy do they hate him for it.

He’s been saying that for over twenty years. Yes the United States will fund whatever science program the enemy is planning to do and do it first. If China says they are going to put bases on mars in three years the USA will be there in a year. There has to be a GEO Political investment for big stuff to be done. Every big discovery/achievement has always had a full funding of a nation.

I’d say you’re a real comedian by spending the time to type this drivel but… the entire point of being a comedian is that you need to be funny.

Not allowing impersonator accounts is bad ?

Why would you want anyone to make an account impersonating you?
