Elixir of Tongues Is Spit In The Face of OCE Players

You, uhh… you know you’re posting on a character that speaks Orcish by default, right?

No it doesnt. Events are out of sync for when they are supposed to happen. The calendar doesnt match up to actual date… oh you mean its fine for you

Yes, it does. As a game, it is a functional product.

Because the calendar is set to NA times. Yes, we’ve already covered this. That doesn’t make the game broken or unplayable. It makes the calendar (a QoL feature added well into the game’s life) and the time of day (a QoL situation) non-functional.

Those are not critical the game’s function, and it still does perfectly well as a playable game without either.

You’re making me want to tell you to stuff it and actively oppose what you want out of spite.

Try to act like an adult, please.

Just imagine all the spitting on faces that goes on around here when ANYTHING is changed or created in game.

There’s a night time in this game? Where? You mean that sky that’s bright as day even at 10pm at night?

OhGod

I dont think Id classify a tool that ensures server events are shown at the right time so people dont miss out a QoL issue. Thats sort of an essential.

I still had the same day/night cycle we currently have in BfA during Wod, I spent alot of time in my garrison just AFK with my camera angles pointing in odd directions, including towards the sky.

I even still remember the horrible WoD launch where I couldn’t even build my garrison, but I got to have a good view of things since it was day time in game. WoD launched at 7pm Sydney time by the way.

Now that we’ve established I was all sorts of wrong, Which Realms from NA are you CRZ’d with? 'Cause the only other thing I can come up with is, they did it to CRZ you in with West coast servers.

I’ve noted: When I’m on a west coast server, I’m only CRZ’d in with other RP realms from a west coast server-- the same for my East Coast RP Server. I’m only CRZ’d in with other East coast servers.

I promise, I’m right sometimes. :rainbow:

Which Realms from NA are you CRZ’d with?

We see…lemme see here…Quel’Thalas, Ragnaros, Stormrage, Proudmoore, Goldrinn, WRA, Aerie Peak,Area 52, ED…its a long list.

OCE sees US players from a lot of realms.

They are on Aman’thul, an Oceanic Realm.

I don’t think so, to be honest with you, Aehl. We handled events and holidays just fine (including the old Fishing Extravaganza) without an in-game calendar for years.

It’s a convenience, not a need.

It’s a convenience, not a need.

When you dont see the STV tournament until its over, I beg to differ. It isnt QoL when you miss out on an event because the schedule is wrong. The same can be said for holidays that end at the wrong time…a schedule / calendar is a tool used by everyone.

You schedule events by server time…is that a QoL system? No it isnt.

Corollary: you want to start a raid but the server time is OCE based not US time…so now you have to work out what time it is overseas to start the raid.

But again, we managed for years without it. People used to look that kind of thing up and make a mental note of it, or write it down. You’re giving this the calculator treatment – yes, a calculator makes trigonometry easier. Not having one does not make trigonometry impossible, however. It just makes it inconvenient to do it.

What if youre new to the game on an OCE realm and dont know that the calendar is nearly a full day wrong? Youre going to miss out on a lot of events until you figure what is actually going on.

We managed because up until two years ago the calendar was based on OUR time. Not US time.

I know, at least… QT, Rag, WRA are all west coast servers. I dunno about the others. So-- I feel like they did it for CRZ…

Dunno if I’m right tho. :rainbow:

This is a genuine concern, yeah. I would hope that other players in-game would inform you through normal social interactions, and I see what you’re saying about misinformation being worse than no information to someone who doesn’t have any information to begin with.

But for the most part, that isn’t the case.

And for all those years where the calendar didn’t exist or didn’t show any events on them?

Only when we got local servers. Before that we had to look things up because the calendar was wrong.

Yeah but have you met the WoW community? Its full of angry, ticked off players who hate them selves almost as much as they hate Blizzard

You’re not really wrong about that, sadly. Personally, I try to be the exception to that rule where I can, and I hope there are folks in the OCE part of the community who feel the same way I do.

No. I have no idea what you want or region you play in. You used a word that did not make sense to me - It’s not a “stark” difference when the RP community has been requesting this for an equally long time. “Stark”, to me, would be if we’d never thought to ask until now and Blizzard fell over themselves figuring out a way to do it.

Apologies if I was not clear enough the first time.
