If I get the new tabard, I’d use it with my Horde Dread Gladiator Elite set (since I unfortunately didn’t push for the tabard back then). I like TWW S1 tabard far better, though (that one is just BIS in my mind). The new Elite sets also work well with the latter, but I’m not sure if I truly like the silhouette. I’ll prolly hide some pieces as I usually do with these sets, try to make a creative mog out of it.
I like the new illusion, but probably not more than Shadowflame or Dreadflame. I’d put it on par with Sinful Flame, depending on the weapon and if you want to accentuate the smoke effect or not.
You didn’t read the 2nd part… mentioned shadowflame as being as good as it gets for us
Ya, I read it, but when I heard “nothing good in last 4 expansions” and then, “shadowflame as good as it gets”, that didn’t sound to me like, “oh, shadowflame is an exception” or “shadowflame is great”
It sounded to me like, “theyre all bad and shadowflame is okay”.
Personally I think shadowflame is great! Thats why i asked for clarification

Haha, well I’m glad my point did come across.
Initially, I was very excited about shadowflame and use it religiously but with time I’m not as enthusiastic anymore and it hasn’t aged well with my original opinion of it. I do believe it’s a step in the right direction, hence the honorable mention but deeming it as “meh” is an accurate assessment for me

Some of the sets are incredible, others are a complete wash. There are some incentives with color-schemes to boost content play. Like how you might notice normal raiding has some of the nicest colors for certain classes. Fair enough - But there are some really, really ugly designs. I think Rogue in specific has around 3 sets in the entire game that look good. It doesn’t make much sense.
Yeah last seasons tabard had a bunch of detail giving it a very cool look. This season is very plain in comparison.

I can’t switch to my Spriest here for some reason, but I mogged Forged with the same weapon - Gurubashi Poker + Dreadflame illusion, and the red goggles - Rhinestone Sunglasses looks awesome on the Gnome. Sweet and spooky void bug thing. (Edit: I went VELF for racials and looks, the Forged tabard looks great on it as well). Forged feels like a BfA tabard to me but looks like a Legion tabard. Again, Prized might fit with the BfA Horde mogs, but I agree that it’s ‘blander’ and has less elements overall. They tried to go for a more metallic / plated look, so it might work better on bulkier races that can better display the borders (so male Orc, Panda, Kul Tiran, Nelf, etc). I still wish it had another layer, like another line / scale below the chest line where the orange hatch/window-like things are. They could’ve definitely gone for a look more suiting to Undermine, with decorations like gems and coins, like the BfD Opulence model they brought back via some NPCs. So yeah Prized def feels like a miss, and isn’t as much of an incentive.
I’m guessing the reason they are dead set on purple for PVP is because purple is what you get if you mix blue (alliance) and red (horde) colors
With that said, would be cool if they gave faction based colors again like what they did in Legion

I look like a DK with a ranged weapon. The way the purple aura floats is kind of cool and at least there’s a titanstrike color scheme that matches it. Not my favorite but also not my least favorite.

Maybe send Blizzard an ordered list of your favourite colours so this never happens again.

i would like to applaud blizzard on giving me pretty much no incentive to play this season, IMO the purple should of been the default pvp set and the other colors should of been the elites. S1 of DF was purple so i already have purple sets, so maybe i’ll come back next season but least for this season no reason to play so uninstalled to save space.
Yeah, this season’s tabard is bad. Its crazy people can do stuff like that and not be fired.
Yooo thank you, Swole, dear Sir!
I’m very happy to be in the Forged Tabard club (I told myself I had to get this tabard, and here we are! Also, Grand Marshal after 12 years… at this point, who is left to care whether you get your titles in group modes or solo?
)
Now I just play for fun, try to improve my arena tech, and even branch back out to other classes (Mained Boomy for a decade, tried Mage specs in DF and last season, now liking SPriest a lot. I also like Warrior and wanna explore other melee in the future. I did try Surv in MoP remix but it was too 1-button spammy for me - tho iirc it was reworked since?). Playing each class teaches me something new… And since I am now motivated instead of having quit, I help the queues… so everybody gains from ppl achieving stuff! (This is why we need better incentivization esp. for healing)

It would be better if it didn’t have so much empty space that’s my problem with it at least. Like there’s a few lines next to the neck and then a huge space where I feel like something should be. But I’m not sure, I’m not an artist so maybe I’m not looking at it the right way.

Even looking at the BfA Horde tabards, which it most closely resembles… I agree, it misses some element below the chest line where the only element (like cyberpunk windows / hatches? Kinda odd for a 2d surface) is. I won’t even compare it to the Forged tabard… because that wouldn’t be fair competition whatsoever
but maybe I’m just biased.
I think if one really wants to maximize the Prized tabard, they’d go for a larger race that can better display the mechanical / pipe-lined borders. It’s a bit sad, though… that this is the most noticeable unique feature of the tabard. The fact the largest, middle section is empty makes it feel like it lacks some unique texture. Some scratch marks or even making the ‘rust’ look more prominent, would add a lot.
counter point: there are a lot of 3D chest models that have pieces that show up above the tabard, and the Prized tabard is great for mixing and matching with those. Fill the blank space that way.

I’ll give it a second look later when I’m on. I like to give Blizzard the benefit of doubt and maybe they did cook something up but it’s not being appreciated.
