More likely just business reasons rather than actual spite. They know what they are doing, why would any company choose to release a ton of nice customization at once when they can sprinkle it in during droughts or bad times as a break in case of emergency?
Don’t encourage them. It’s best to pretend the elves don’t exist.
To keep everyone from complaining why only humans and elves are the only visage forms, wish they could’ve done a modified Kyrian. Those creatures from the afterlife already has flying animations.
There’s also their shared aesthetics with High Elves, gold, blue, and silver. Even some of their virtues could also be applied to them: devotion, loyalty, and purity.
because we wanted galadriel/legolas but got…something else. hehe

well lets review this:
- blood elves have their own full fledged city, void elves dont.
- 3 of their very own leveling zones, with quests designed specifically for them in all 3 , + quests from their city, void elves dont
- their own specially designed starting gear sets, void elves are given sets already designed for all races
- can be Death Knight, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Monk, Demon Hunters, void elves cant be demon hunters or paladins so they automatically have less class options
- have around 25 hairstyles per gender type, void elves have 10 styles they started with 3 expacs ago.
- and we wont go into the whole population issue.
- blood elves are playable from level 1 and selectable from the starting screen, void elves cant be played until you do most of legion, earn them as playable and then you can select them and start at level 10

These are all prime examples of playing the actual High Elf race vs the bargain bin version.

you heard it here first folks. void elves are harder to get, have fewer options and are viewed by many as discount elves lol
If only I was the first to say that, I’ve seen them called everything from store brand, Kmart version, Walmart version and some things I can’t repeat here, regardless you can’t expect to get Core Race treatment as an Allied Race when you are like an off shoot version.
Also, they aren’t hard to get at all you can knock it really quickly now if you actually want to play the wannabe version of Blood Elves/High Elves on Alliance.

Legion gives you Void Elves, a clear effort to give that style of elf without being a complete rip off of a horde race, later turned into the superior version leaving the horde with half the race the Alliance got and a generic knock off NB
he thinks void elves are superior. my guess is because we have the option to be shades of blue or human skin colors. otherwise, i dunno what he’s saying

Void thing if anything, he like me and many others think them being diluted into being lesser versions of Blood Elves/High Elves is lame because it’s already on Horde side.

as someone mentioned above, so are pandaren and dracthyr.
Both of those were designed to be neutral, Blood Elves weren’t and neither were Void Elves they are supposed to be different from one another which is why they are, even I was a big Void Elf fan until they became Blood Elf wannabes now I just want something like Kul Tiran Warlock or Lightforged Draenei Warlock so I can race change it.

not me. i love the thalassian option. i just hope we get more hairstyles and classes soon. i’m getting so old now, i have trouble with mythics. clock is ticking down
I love it when it’s like this character not like the well wannabe option, I might change my mind if they ever get glowy skintone or pink hair but I think those ships sailed when people insisted on getting copy/paste skintones and hair colors from us.
