This is not retail. Theres no changes to upset the balance of wrath or its not wrath when you try and ‘balance’ it. Its perfect as it is
Could be wrong but isn’t hunter BM a pretty much pvp spec only.
We will have a Ele in our 25s because the guy always showed up for raids and could stay out of fire in tbc so he earned his spot.

Everyone knew Ele was bad in wotlk, lava burst is trash. You can reroll, respec or quit. I benched my resto shaman I’ve raided on since classic because shamans are so weak. I’ll play it in cata classic or if I quit before then due to mythic++++ being added then I’ll survive.
I read your whole post, any buff to ele pve is a major buff to ele pvp. Rebalancing the game is not something blizzard does in classic games. They’ve fixed oversights and leveled playing fields with factions like Paladin seals that would of made alliance rets useless. Those already existed in the game however.

Thanks Auril could not remember off the top of my head if BM was bad, but I seem to remember them getting a lot of nerfs over Arenas. So threw it out there.

If you’re so worried about being meta, go play a meta class. Those of us who wish to have fun will play Ele because we like it.

Elemental is perfectly fine for PVE. Dunno what you’re complaining about. It’s not a pure pvp spec at all. The dps output is perfectly in line with other dps PVE specs. Wotlk is player > class/spec, and your logs/parses will speak for themselves.

You don’t get to cherry pick balance changes. Either ALL classes get rebalanced or NO classes. But you, like many, want to come forward with your cherry picked class and beg for buffs, like your class deserves special treatment.
But to put it simply, they are not rebalancing this game, no matter how long a wall of text you may waste time typing. They already do that with retail, which you may want to play instead. If you don’t like how shaman is here, you are free to switch to a different class.

It’s the same issue as TBC where for PVE ele doesn’t scale as well with gear as other classes that are more reliant on it.
So Ele will remain strong through phase 1, they just will start to fall behind as the phases progress for 25s. But even past phase 1 it’s still a strong option for 10s.
It’s not ideal, but it’s workable.
This thread is how retail classes get buffed for pve reasons and then become completely insane in pvp.

Yes, but you need a Warlock who can achieve at least 2900+ (not sure what tier they can reach that) and maintain that buff before it bypasses Totem of Wrath. Also, the 3% crit is nice to have on mobs if you don’t have a Ret/Sin rogue.

So what if you don’t have a boomkin in the group but a resto druid? You still bring the 5% crit.
I wanna add even when they “fall off” they’re still within 10-15% of the top dps specs, so they’re perfectly viable. You carry so many buffs that if for whatever reason one day someone is a no show you can cover their buffs. People keep doomering about ele when it’s a fine spec to play.

i mean you asked what specs are good in PVP and not PVE, when i say frost of course i meant mage lol. frost mage is like the quintessential pvp spec throughout wow

If I had fun raiding as an ele sham all through TBC I should still be able to now; I shouldn’t have to level a new character just because it’s now a “pvp spec”.
Midtier DPS. Probably lower than Ele, tbh.

no one is stopping you from being ele in wrath. it’s not even in the bottom 5 specs on the charts. If your guild won’t allow ele in pve maybe you should move to a less hardcore/parse-focused guild
Shadow is not a top DPS class. Never! Its midtier!
Just play Ele, it’s fine. My guild is bringing an ele sham cuz he’s a baller. You don’t need everyone to be meta unless you are speedrunning.
If your guild won’t bring one then find a raid leader who actually knows the expansion and isn’t dependent on youtubers to tell him what to do.
