I don’t think that restriction still exists. My main was at 0 echoes for this reason, but I got 1600 in my M+ chest.
Whether or not it puts mains behind is a different issue I guess.

It’s not about “reading” being hard. Less than 24 hours is not really a “heads up”.
Starting tomorrow the cost of all of your essences is going to quintuple, buy what you need now!!!

Specifically, what about the devaluation bothers you?
For real. I have friends who I warned last night but were at work and didn’t have time to buy their essences before this morning (much less potentially farm up the difference to spend 500).
Yeah I mean I’m not sure how long it used to take to farm up the difference (i.e. how many days lost) … but it would just be nice to have time to plan as players.
Might be nice for them to have time to gather feedback too (as in all of those full rank 3 players getting shafted).

I am curious why people were sitting on so many echoes instead of buying essences with them.
Obviously the essences weren’t that important.
One reason is that you can only buy essences once a character has Rank 3.
I have alts that were waiting to buy a certain essence because my main hadn’t gotten from 2 -> 3 yet, for instance.
You may have had alts at 200, 250, etc. With enough time you may have grinded out the spare 300 to buy that 1 essence before it essentially just got 0’ed out this week.
But yeah if you were sitting at around 1500 … then sure yeah those essences weren’t that important to you and you have a mini headstart to new corruptions.

So if they had given you an extra day or so headsup, would you have been able to grind out rank 3 on your main?
If you weren’t doing this already, sounds like the essence wasnt that important.
Now factor in that you earn them 5x faster, if you were sitting around at 200, you didn’t lose that much time. Thats like what… A single day of assaults? just over 1 Vision? A few m+ runs?
No, you lost a proportional amount of time. You were 1/3 done, now you’re (very close to) 0 done. That means you need to do roughly the same amount of activity you did the first time around.
But that proportion has an exact value.
If it takes 1 hour to earn 200…then you lost 1 hour.
What does this mean? You could be at 200 just due your play time or number of days at 120, etc.
You are probably right, but it’s not really relevant.
Fact remains you should not be dropping game altering changes with less than a 24 hour heads up.

I definitely understand that people are so addicted to outrage culture they are trying to find reasons this is a ton worse than it is.
Its a minor issue if you have to do an extra 30…45 mins of work.
