Yeah, about that word censorship here. Yesterday I wanted to describe the the way I felt the female human char model rear movement the word I typed was wiggle but with a j instead of w. I found out that word is censored and had to change it.
The short form of that word is used to describe a dance in my parts. Very traditional to use that word. Just the j with the ig following.
Weirdest censorship of words I’ve ever seen, also somewhat insulting to those of us in communities steeped in tradition that has used that term for hundreds of years.
But this is the same armor from the very first opening scene from WoW? I don’t see what is so skimpy about it. And if the developers have concerns, they still can add a full fledged druid heritage armor for the Night Elves. The current ones look all bad and nothing like Malfurion or the official artworks.
But this is a request for Alliance-players, they will ruin it like the Worgen armor and make it look very bad.
Yeah that’s the issue when you try to censor specific words that can even faintly be associated to bigotry. 4chan is having a field day with all the random terms and phrases they’ve managed to con the ADL into thinking are hate speech.
Your case in particular is used very infrequently as a racial slur toward black people and they just blanket censored it despite it being a word associated with a type of dance MUCH preceding the use of it racially.
Though I’ve seen dumber surprisingly enough. Can’t remember what game it was but you couldn’t even say you played “assassin” without your message being “******in” when you tried to say what class you played. Or that one website that was trying to talk about the compass items in Genshin that kept showing as comp ***.
That’s all I needed to hear! Nah for real, great post.
While they’re easing restrictions; make the draenor orc clan armor sets cosmetic! Not an armor type! It still galls me that they changed the thunderlord set in late beta to leather rather than mail, despite the thunderlord clan being renowned hunters. And that they added a frostwolf set that is leather, when the clan is known for its warriors, shamans and hunters. And definitely not for rogues, druids and monks!
This is the first topic I’ve seen in a looking time that I wanna “love” instead of just “like”.
I’m not sure why the folks at Blizzard are always so stubborn and slow to come around to important and cool things, like this is, these days. It seems like maybe they were headed that direction once upon a time… but, now, who knows?
This is just fantastic ideas!
Excellent write up! I really hope this topic can float up through the dregs of these forums and somehow miraculously not only be seen by the proper channels but the hard part, I fear, acted on as well.
I would like no transmog restrictions imo. That way we could do some cool stuff. I would make my shamans look like battle mages personally. Shamans for the traditional look should wear leather so being able to transmog any class would open up personalized flavor.
I’m mixed on easing the warglaives thing. Honestly this comes off as another “Why can’t I mog Azzinoth” post unfortunately although there is a lot more to it and it’s a shame to summarize it thusly.
Honestly I’d love to just have a few things:
A tuxedo I don’t have to do island expeditions and pray to get
More DH class mogs, the removal of tier sets after legion really left DH’s lacking.
The ability to gather mog for any class on any class
I totally agree! If they were going to lock it to a certain class then they should only be allowed that type of weapon regardless of the crying that may ensue.
I get peeved with sadness every time I can’t use “hide pants” option on characters with AQ robes.
Heck, even Moira Bronzebeard doesn’t have pants in BRD. Lots of naughty stuff happened in there that turned out to be an actual romantic relationship between her and her captive that lead us having a DID allied race. From a Stockholm Syndrome perhaps? lol…
When I threw together the Wardrobe, I believe I had it set to “Blood Elf Paladin” but honestly I don’t remember 100% anymore.
Either way, the point is that Blood/Void Elves (and Pandaren as well) completely throw the “silhouettes” argument in the bin when they utilize cosmetic armor.
Honestly class identity went out the window when blizzard started getting to damn lazy to make tier sets for each class and just have armor sets now. Can you tell (without looking at color coded health bars) what class anyone is anymore? All the plate ones look the same to me now, all the leather ones look the same to me now. Etc. Etc.
If you unlocked an appearance I say use it. Right now you technically even can, if you are a plate wearer. In RP you can toss on a cloth robe, but the other way around?.. NOPE! So stupid imo.
They let everyone take off everything they want now, minus pants, but still wont let you put anything you want on…
