Lots of threads out there on this subject and also a lot of opinions. For instance folks say Brewmaster is difficult to pick up, not so at all, after the changes its actually one of the simplest tanks around with mitigation kept active via by being attached to normal rotation of attacks though the low HP turns folks off; and your assessments of the other specs are accurate. Guardian is also very easy to pick up, its a balance between easy vs boring though and bears border on boring but as a starter tank it allows you to focus on the dungeon and mechanics more vs tending to cooldowns. Druid specs are all doing pretty good at the moment. DH in my opinion is more complex but by no means difficult, I’m just not a fan of mandatory kiting most dungeons require now but DH’s are king because of their mobility and good self healing. Pally are pretty easy to pick up with good active mitigation and its not hard to keep it up at all times, lots of “oh crap” options as well for learning. Warriors are scarce now as they are allegedly not doing as well, a good number of cooldowns but takes more focus and awareness of dungeon mechanics to have the correct mitigation up for the situation. DK’s seem to be doing ok but they are the anti-kiting tanks since they are so slow, they shine at self healing but it takes some experience to know how to pool resources for the big heals. At the end of the day it boils down to what you like I think, I know that’s cliché but its true, if you like a class you’ll do better than if you feel “weak” or “bored”. For me thematically pallys are tanks, bears are tanks. warriors are tanks, deathknights i can see, spastic DH’s bouncing around like rabbits on crack are not tanks. Drunken monks, eh, maybe. All just my opinion in regards to your question.
