Easiest tank class?

Heavily nerfed?

Don’t worry Dumb Dumb, you play DK. You Good Troll!

  1. CC/kiting is nerfed. The Typhoon/Vortex combo will no longer be possible, nor can you have Typhoon/Feral affinity for the passive speed boost. All because Typhoon is being removed as a talent and moved to Balance affinity.
  2. Healing nerfed. Even if you take Resto affinity, you won’t able to pop out for a quick Swiftmend anymore (which is the best part about Resto affinity) because Swiftmend will now require a pre-existing HoT to consume.
  3. Pulverize is being nerfed, although not many people took it anyway, but still, losing a “9% less damage from environmental effects” option is bad since it was useful on some encounters with heavy non-sourced damage.
  4. Single-target stun is getting nerfed. Nobody used to take this anyway but a nerf is a nerf.

The first 2 are the big ones.

And they STILL haven’t given us a slow.

I think Guardian is the only spec in Shadowlands that is LOSING abilities in the “de-pruning”.

Well, Druid is probably the easiest to play.

but the issue isn’t really easy vs hard.
and easy doesn’t mean best.

maybe watch a few of the tank comparison videos on youtube.
more than easy, you are going to want to pick the one you like to play the most or even the easiest tank will become hard.

That’s a shame. I’ve been looking at druid changes from the resto perspective and loving a lot of them. Sucks for the bears.

That’s the problem: The developers are also looking at Druid changes only from the perspective of Resto.

Heart of the Wild is their “big new thing” for Shadowlands. FANTASTIC for Resto Druids, and makes them even more powerful in Mythic+ (like they needed any help, there…) but completely useless for Guardian/Feral.

They’re also taking Guardian/Feral’s only utility (Stampeding Roar) and giving it to Resto/Balance.

There’s no point in playing a Guardian Druid in Shadowlands.

wait what? last i check they were only giving it to all specs not removing it from the ones that it obviously belongs to. so you cant loose something they don’t remove. the only thing being lost is the exclusiveness.

All specs will have it. But why bring Feral/Guardian (who are bad) when you can get the same thing from Resto/Balance (which are good)?

DH is designed to be appealing to new players and easy to pick up, so DH tank should in theory be easy.

I had a very easy time getting into Prot Paladin though, personally. Easy AOE, defensive abilities felt natural to use, didn’t feel too different from playing melee DPS.

The hardest part about tanking is knowing the fights, not necessarily being amazing at your spec. If you know the fights I am sure you can pick up tanking pretty quickly on any of them.

They hardest thing about tanking is knowing when to put the DPS on ignore!

Typhoon was only needed for necrotic. you can get away without it.
Swiftmend was nice, but won’t be needed 90% of the time if you are tanking and the healer isn’t dead. but if the HoT remains they should rename it to Set-up-mend/ 2-second-mend-if-you-are-not-already-dead but being instant with no set up was instrumental in finishing the last boss when the healer had to go

nerfs to things people rarely pick have minimal impact but are annoying.

now what about the buffs? like getting Beserk?

Yeah, okay. Try tanking Psychophages on Mythic Nzoth and not take Typhoon.

oh sorry, forgot raids exist. ^-^;

That’s why I help them do their job with Misdirection.
