can we maybe change elementals shamans earthquake visual? dont get me wrong, i like it, i think it looks good and its thematic, but after leveling several shamans now, and even in some higher level content too, its clear that VERY often, tanks mistake earthquake for a mob aoe and kite the mobs out of it.
i just spent an entire dungeon with a tank very obviously kiting every pull out of earthquake because they thought it was some enemy “dont stand in the fire” effect (which there are several ground aoes in dragonflight dungeons that also strongly resemble earthquake and deal high damage for standing in them, so i dont blame them) and its just quite unclear that its meant to be a friendly effect
could we maybe change the graphic or put a blue circle around the border of the effect so tanks know its friendly and to keep mobs inside of it?
I’d rather tanks not even see EQ. They’re far more likely to kite out of it than kite in.

This seriously needs to be addressed, the EQ epidemic is getting very tiring and especially in this iteration you press EQ ALOT. It feels so unbelievably bad for the tank to move when you’ve literally just put down like 5+ EQ. it’s so bad at some point you just conceded and start casting EB in AOE because at least you’ll get some value. this button feels the most a** of almost all buttons i can think of right now. please do something to update this to a modern class. Tanks don’t have to deal with this ground effect with ANY other class in m+. the only other class i can think of is destro lock, but they’re all demo right now. ele isn’t being taken in several keys due to the fact teh tank needs to kite and they know they have to move out of eq and the ele will lose significant value. what is the upside of EQ exactly that makes this level of ability punishment necessary?

another solution might be to redesign the spell.
imagine instead of a ground based aoe, it summons a short lived (same duration as EQ) earth or lava elemental that can follow the enemies and radiates earthquakes normal damage amount, on top of a minor auto attack or something to keep it following a mob. it would be easy to tell from nameplates that its not hostile, wouldnt be so vulnerable to tanks kiting away from it, but otherwise would have the same net effect as earthquake, and could even interact with elemental shamans elemental summon life extension talents or something for a little extra synergy. kind of similar behavior to a demo locks charhound
idk, just a thought. i do like earthquakes existing graphic, but tanks just constantly kite out of it, and its hard to even blame them when at the best of times its hard to see through ground clutter and mob bodies and aoes, and at the worst of times tanks actively mistake it for a mob effect. most other similar persistent ground effect class aoes also come with a rain effect which is usually unique to character spells and gives tanks a big “keep the mobs here” sign like warlocks rain of fire or mages blizzard

The fact half of our dps in mythics relies on of the PUG tank is scared of EQ or not is crazy. Why not let it be a debuff that radiates off of the main target if you select the “Cast at Target” option?
This and the “We made it so in AoE lightning bolt, not also chain lightning, becomes Tempest” are such wild game design choices in 2026.
