In vanilla, the rankings were still server based, even when they added battle group bgs, I think. Now, honor competiton rose a bit because people were able to play more bgs than before, generally. But it was still only a competition for rank with your own server.
I can’t see them doing it differently this time either. I don’t see how the math could work. Since you have to maintain one of the few top slots for many many weeks in a row to progress through 12-14, I don’t see how it would be possible to ever have someone reach 14 if the competition was classic-wide. There simply would be too many people competing for the same slots for anyone to ever hold onto it long enough to actually reach 14.
I’d rather deal with the q’s for a couple months than transfer to a dead server. Dead servers suck (looking at you Azgalor-US). I’ve just been having my wife put me in q before I get home from work

They should fix it for free.
eh, some people like to play in the alone enviroment… Imagine how LIT a single player version of this game would be.

I personally love it when there realms are lower pop. It fosters a closer community where everyone knows everyone. Its a fine line to walk though between low and dead.

server shows medium pop right now and looks to be climbing more steadilyy. only took about a week. impatience.
I think it depends on whether you are horde or alliance. From what I’ve heard from my friends, many of the Alliance guilds are transfering over to the newer servers. So if you are horde, you would find the newer servers abit more empty. That also means long term, the older servers would be more horde dominated and the newer servers would likely become alliance dominated.

The time for new servers was before launch day, so the transfer servers will be dead forever and people will stick to the servers with queues.
Best bet is to hope that the population forces them to make new servers when they remove layering, but people would love that given what layering has done to the economy on some servers.
Id reroll on a layer free server right now and im close to 60.
