Those “Deep trolls” have just as many Night Elf physical features as they do Troll features. If anything, they’re even more justifiable as a neutral race than Earthen are because they’re quite literally the missing link between Trolls and Night Elves.

Unless you mean in a meta game design sense, because if so, you’re wrong. Night Elves were designed in WoW before trolls were and the idea of them being related came way later.

The trolls in Warcraft 2 were Green. I was mainly referring to Jungle trolls, the ones that are related closest to Night Elves and were the ones that triggered the comparisons to start being made circa cataclysm. If you think for a second Night Elves were designed based off of Trolls, you’re wrong. Plain and simple. They talked about their design philosophy for Nelves in WC3 in the past.

They were essentially Drow mixed with Wood Elves.
