I’m all for it.
Honestly I’m not going to pretend to love the every race every class thing they’ve moved into- but I am pretty annoyed they stopped short of giving us combos for Druid, Shaman, and Paladin. It’s obvious why but ugh.

Yeah, I’m right with you there. Some of them legitimately made sense, like rogue, but they didn’t even attempt to justify the whole Lightforged warlock thing…which is silly, because I think they could have taken a pretty good crack at it if they tried.
But I am super bitter I didn’t even get my gnome paladin.
Yep. The bar to clear for a new race to be considered moderately successful is probably something along the lines of “2% of players have one that they play at least semi-regularly.”
Which doesn’t seem like a lot, but the game has 25 playable races at this point, and with the obscenely large chunks of the pie that are permanently committed to Humans and the various flavors of Elf, any other race passing even the 4% mark is probably a “hit it out of the park” milestone.
And the #1 feedback for Dracthyr was “OK, but why can’t I choose to never, ever, EVER look like one of these things.”
The idea behind it is cool. Being a Dragonkin. But what would have been better is, what if instead of being a man-lizard, they let you play as drakes from all the different flights? You know, the drakes that we fly on for mounts. That would have been way cooler. It could have been like a Dragon Druid.
Even the permanent visage isn’t really enough. A good amount of players are still like 'Please just let me be x race with horns."
They have more armour, more strength and more stamina than any other race in the game. Dracs have less strength but more mastery than any other race.
And you know that “let me hide the horns now” would be next…
I just hope they can see that Dracthyr was a specific failure and not give up on “monster” races. I think we all know that the “pretty” races are going to dominate with the remaining fanbase, but I think there is still room for some beloved and long asked for monster races to be done well and not be total flops.
I really just wanted a Dragonsworn from the RPG, honestly. Just make Evoker a universal class that enables more dragon-themed customization options, or something.
Like, 90% of the people I know who play Dracthyr do it because their Visage customization has better faces and hairstyles than human female or blood elf male models do. Which says more about the lackluster character creation we have even after Shadowlands than the appeal of Dracthyr as a concept.
No, they don’t. Their stance is completely different and they have only 69 animations, none of which are shared with worgen. Meanwhile, the kobyss model actually does use the male worgen rig and has all of its animations copied verbatim.
Oh goodness the Kobyss would be such a gigantic L.
don’t worry, we’ll have naga (*scaly night elves that are naga in name only) in 12.x
I just want Broken. Getting Lightforged was a gut punch I will never forgive Blizzard for.
Considering how the story shook out at the end of Legion, getting Eredar refugees that wanted to follow Velen always seemed like a much cooler option than LFD. But Broken could have been fun, too.
This. To me, the racial change is a positive thing where Earthen are concerned. The xp boost was a fun idea, but compared to other racials…it’s useless. It would be handy what–once every two years for three days? Nah. It was a fun idea but not a lasting, good idea. I’m glad they changed it.
Yeah, Seeing Red and the Tishamaat from the Heritage questline handled repentant Eredar as well as they could, imho, but they really should have been an Allied Race at that point…and all of them should share hair and horn styles!
That’s true too. Maybe they could borrow from GW2 and make exploration a legitimate way to level up for everyone, especially with Skyriding. Something more low-key and relaxed, not as fast but serviceable.
You could say they are in a …tough place.
P.S. Full disclosure…I didn’t even read the OP’s post I just wanted to make an Earthen joke…
I actually don’t even remember what they did to nerf their XP racial.
I like my slow talking dwarf. He’s fun.
The racial got nerfed? Did I miss something? I don’t see anything on this, the racial on wowhead still says 200% xp from exploring.
