I don’t love them or hate them since I don’t know much about them thus far but in the case of Horde and Horde players finally getting an unaltered Alliance race model on the Horde side like Alliance got years ago with Void Elves I’m looking forward to getting them even if I never play them personally.
Dark Iron Heritage is new armor so whatever problems it got is because they didn’t do a good job.
What I’m talking about is the backlog of equipment since Vanilla. That armor needs to be stretched or angled or whatever so it fits every race properly which means tons of work for a new skeletal frame and zero work for a recycled frame.
…
Those can be both factions, it seems that Blizzard is no longer want faction races since the new race is the third for both factions.
Some Horde said “iron dwarves” nothing else beyond that, so listening skills is not a thing right now. Iron dwarves look edgy and considering their background and history they would of fit horde, but other dwarves are just nah.
I think earthen dwarves should be a special customization for regular dwarves, this way people can still have their bearded dwarves for both genders.
Maybe have a community vote if they should be a new race or a new customization, I feel it just wasting a potential race slot for both factions.
I dont think their bad necessarily. I might bring back my shadow priest that i stopped playing a while ago as one as swotching factions made me leave him behind (he was a dwarf)
I just wish there was more, it just seems lacking, as in they dont come off super exciting to me as member of the horde. I would love if they did all titans races like:
Mogu for the Horde
Vrykul for Alliance
Earthen Dwarves are neutral
<—sits in corner crying over the thought we could’ve been given proper Wildhammer dwarves and not just a tattoo or hair ornament for ironforges (in lore Wildhammers are supposed to be taller and leaner than normal dwarves, have a considerably different culture and thus would’ve had different classes (Wildhammers in the RPG lore didn’t have priests or paladins but had druids and shamans due to their much closer ties to nature).
From what they’ve shown Earthen just look like hot topic Dark Irons with gems on their skin and the option to have bearded women. >_>;
The community has insisted on kul’tirans and vulpera becoming an allied race, I believe they will take suggestions after the initial earthen allied race.
…just has to be possible concepts and not difficult models like snakes and spiders.
edit: I say spiders as i’m not sure that new nerubian variation would be easy for an allied race. Maybe better to alter the model on a female draenei and remove the excess limbs?
Your main is Aliance, is that it?
Either way, no one wins.
And, again, I can go and make a Dwarf right now, in fact I have a few. So, how are Blizzard going to convince me that playing another Dwarf race will be any different from the last two times I did it?
They complained and got Blood Elves. They complained about the options and got some of the most extensive customization options in game, and for an allied race.
How is that a loss?
Yeah, I don’t know how that would work out, but I still think Nerubians would make a very compelling and interesting Allied or Horde/Alliance race. There is so much potential with them.
This is a leap. They didn’t give us any details of the second and third expansions besides location and a general plot. That was it. Plus they probably didn’t give all the details out about The War Within as well.
So hold you horses saying that the Earthen are the only addition for the next three expansions.
They should just give people another cute adorable race. We need more world of cute craft.
There isn’t a significant number of people who actually want either of those, and if you want proof, look at the popularity of the races that have the most in common with ogres or tuskarr aesthetically
This but unironically. Vulpera were an extremely popular addition to the game
I’m not likely to main one but I’m also not going to be a whiny baby about their existence because it doesn’t negatively impact my experience in any way.
They act on a lot of complaints from their customers. They don’t bend the knee to complaints about new races because that requires completely scrapping their plans for the ones they want to add, models, voices, questlines, et al. in favor of what some of those customers want to strongarm them into adding.
There are two Horde-aligned ogre clans. One allied with the Horde under Rexxar in WCIII and hasn’t done anything since early MoP, the other was duped into joining the Horde in Cataclysm and was relevant for a single zone. They’re a minority that their supporters still fervently insist are a major Horde race when they’re clearly not.
The Horde helped both tuskarr tribes and the tortollans just as much as the Alliance. I’m sick of the insistence that races need to be pigeonholed into factions based on what’s seen as Alliance-y or Horde-y, namely because that leads to Alliance posters asking for all of the pretty races before demanding all of the Horde’s races, for good measure, while Horde posters just demand rugged races and shun ones like vulpera.
New races are not decided by popular vote. You allied race whiners keep insisting that they should be, just like you insist that “allied race” should mean “any random NPC race with no regard to how they’d look in gear” instead of “race based on a core race”, which is why you keep ending up disappointed when Blizzard pumps out another low-effort race like earthen.
I’ll forgive them if we get High Elves in Midnight.
I’d much prefer subraces/race variants.
They’ve developed a tool that uses AI to fit the items onto models. No clue how extensive it is.
I figure it’s kind of cool, but I usually don’t make too many characters to begin with. The most I’ve ever had in one go is 4.
If people wanna play it then more power to them.
Ogres and tinkers make zero sense for a return to Quel’thalas or Northrend expansion
If we get something with Yrel in Midnight, we could get Ogres.
I dont care that horde only players get access to dwarves now with earthen.
But it does annoy me that the alliance has 3 versions of the same race using the same model with the exact same theme.
Id much prefer it if there was a second neutral race which is something not already on the alliance character creation screen.
Or if the alliance got something new and earthen was horde only.
I’m pretty disappointed honestly.
Mostly because I play alliance so it feels like we’re not even getting anything new. Blizz took the laziest route possible to introduce a new race.
Copy/paste an old race, toss on some random gems, give the ladies a beard and done.
It’s so completely lazy, uninspired and boring. Just look at the art in wow, Blizz could’ve done so much better.
I’m not upset at all.
You though, appear to need counseling
