and this issue needs to be resolved ASAP, WoW team, because it is looking like I won’t be able to heal my raid next weekend (my main is a shaman) nor PvP at the start of season 3; being a week (or more) behind in conquest acquisition can be debilitating.
This issue is the first time WoW ever blue-screened my computer. And I have played since the beginning.
Wishing a fix would get out sooner than later. Reported to AMD as well.
7900XTX
23.11.1
I even formatted Windows 11 and reinstalled 10.
Wow DX 12 has been broken for 7900 XTX for all last season. I’ve made threads on here and reported to blizz and AMD. They just ignore it. Terrible customer support. Now they broke completely and hopefully fix all the issues
WoW devs won’t see your posts in tech support, you’d want to post it in Bug Report
Tbf I’m not sure they even read it there.
There are a handful of similar threads in the Bug Report forum. One even has a dev response Memory Leak with a possible, but temporary, solution. Have yet to try it because I am going to see if the issue is tackled on the next reset this Tuesday.
Still, concerning oneself with where these issues/concerns are posted, at this point, is a bit pedantic.
It’s info for next time. No point posting into the void if something else pops up.
Same , using 7900 xt and 7700x cpu, i have not had any issues in any single game or benchmark ever until patch 10.1.5 and forward with dx 12. Now i get driver crashes on the same drivers i was using prior to that patch and ive tried every driver update since and still i get random gpu driver crashes when using dx 12. Something changed in 1 patch that sent it all downhill.
Still doesn’t work
Same. New patch, and issue continues without dx11 use.
Good time for raiding
DX12 still caps me at 60 fps in several locations for some reason, have to use DX11 still.
Here same thing with my RX6800S
It’s a bit frustrating but hey it’s computers for you… Would be nice to receive some free days of playing for all the AMD user’s who lost some precious days…
My ram has been filling to 99% capacity, then the PC restarts.
Bump, still facing FPS issues, nearly 50% worse frame rates on dx12 vs dx11. 6700xt
Using DX12 still makes the game instantly lock-up and not work. What gives???
(Yes I am aware of the DX11 “workaround” and am currently using it)
RX 6750 XT here. Never had a problem prior to patch 10.2!
Probably not related, but does anyone else have Battlenet window open every time you start WoW? Super annoying, it’s set to minimize and all that. Just started today.
Changing render scale to 100% fixed it for me, I was using a macro to get it at 99% previously. DX12 now working for 6700xt
VRS doesnt work on rx 7900xtx says vrs unsuported for graphic related reasons
Don’t ever use VRS, it’s pretty bad in general. Also it decreases GPU load and increases CPU load which you don’t want in an MMO, especially not WoW.
No, it’s increasing the CPU load because the GPU is taking less time to render a frame, which means the CPU can work on the next frame sooner AKA your frame rate is higher… Without going into the specifics, it’s pretty much all done on the GPU end.
For most types of common content, it can result in around a +10% increase in FPS, with next to no visual degredation unless you’re in a bunch of dense and noisy overlapping alpha masked grass or something. Even then, you’d need it on an aggressive mode to really see any artifacts. VRS can work pretty well when used correctly and it can even be combined with up to 4x MSAA depending on the modes used. Though WoW completely disables the use of both at the same time all together.
It’s because you’re using MSAA. Switch to an image based AA solution like CMAA2.
