While they’re at it, they can update their FSR functionality to 3.

There’s a blue post in here now. They’re looking into it.

My Ryzen 5 7600 + 6700XT + 32GB DDR5 run perfectly fine LOL. My FPS is INSANE.

I was thinking of AMD’s problem for the crashes in seemingly high load scenarios, but no. After browsing multiple forum posts, this is probably a optimization problem or anything else that persisted since 10.1 or early. Yea, please fix it Blizzard. My setting btw, 7900xt 5800x3d with 32GB RAM, is crashing at multiple entities spawning situation and will keep crashing if all the entities are casting spells.

That’s what I thought. The cached renderings were not compatible anymore. I’ve had a few games do this where on the initial first time load, it would go through a build mode and then it was good from that point forward. Seems to be the case here.

Thanks for finding this Caladwyn. Worked like a charm!

This works. For me it took about 8 minutes. I guess it’ll vary based on how awesome one’s computer is.

this sh1t still broken, 7600 here (12gb) + 12 gb and still out of ram with your command ( -d3d11) . no more money for unplayables games

FYI DX11 is also having issues. Switching to 12 has helped me, but depending on gpu there seems to be a different outcome. AMD users are having the issues with 12, the rest it seems to be 11.

I have recently tried deleting the WTF folder in wow and it fixed the issue

I launched in DX12 today, and despite a lag between hitting launch and the window actually opening (no where near as long as the ‘wait for wow to respond’ thing some people sat through previously), and the game launching and not automatically logging me in - the game is running fine, just like it used to.

Did they push a fix out?

I’m still experiencing the issue - tried removing the -d3d11, but had to put it back in.
The only API options available in game at that point are dx11.

Drivers are up to date. Old drivers tested. Same issue.

Can confirm I also run an AMD card and just tried it this morning. Working normally now

I do. It worked fine on ultra settings and Direct X 12 prior to 10.2. Now have to run on Direct X 11 on fair settings (otherwise the game hard crashes/reboots my PC). Also, after 10.2, no addons even if they’ve been updated recently. Ironically, zero issues with D4 on max settings, same with virtually every other game I play.

Going to be a bit hyperbolic here but seriously considering cancelling my sub: this game looks and performs terribly on low settings AND the default UI is…“uninspiring”.

DX12 works beautifully, until I get a display crash in the middle of combat, a good 5-20s time out while the graphics engine restarts. When it comes back, I get half the frames as before, until I reboot.

DX11 is stable, but I also get half the frames I do in DX12, dropping down to nearly unplayable in raid content.

The only “demanding” games I play are BG3 and D4, which run correctly.

Lol of course this happens when I go to put in a new video card. DX11 temporarily fixed it for me.

Hope this gets fixed soon… have my settings half what they where before the patch and my PC is still running hot, lagging and self restarting or hanging forcing a hard restart.

How is this still an issue after the amount of people that have reported this? I can play approximately 30 min before I get a black screen and my computer restarts. There was zero issue previously playing on DX12 before 10.2, and now I can’t even finish the new questline until this resolved. A patch needs to be pushed out ASAP.

Similar build here except with a slightly older CPU. Only replying to bump this thread.

I have tried every possible fix (even upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 with a fresh install). Even synthetic benchmarks couldn’t cause a crash. I have played BG3, MK1, D4 and JWE2 at max settings for several hours this weekend with no crashes; this issue is exclusively a World of Warcraft one since the release of patch 10.2.
