Dungeon finder, out of touch with the community

So take someone like myself who has played since vanilla and is clueless. Imagine all the completely new players, gotta suck for them. I got tired of trying to find a group that I have yet to do a dungeon to 70, late to the game but only recently started back up for wrath.

It’s optional, you don’t have to engage in the RDF if you don’t want to and wish to fly to the dungeon, the last 10 dungeons iv’e done on TBCC iv’e been summoned to – I don’t see the problem with eliminating spamming hundreds of people with “inv” as some form of community breaking situation. Most people don’t even type in TBCC dungeons, It’s not 2004 any more.

Yep, iv’e also played since vanilla, the amount of tireless effort it takes as a DPS to even get a response is going to be so jarring for new people coming to wrath, first they will be met with a LFG channel they quite literally can’t even read (assuming they play on a reasonably populated server) and then they will be funneled down a Bulletin-board road of disappointment.

Yeah i use one for raiding each week. Whats your point/? Not everyone in a guild jumps in to help when a person wants to run a instance.

Oh stop it with the “It’s optional”. If the game makes it counterproductive to do something then there’s no point in doing it.

Explain how its a problem? Hell a reward in MoP was a teleport directly to a instance was a reward for the Challenge mode instances. How does this effect your gameplay? you are free to fly to whatever instance in wrath/TBC you want to.

So make the game more annoying for everyone else because you feel forced to use a function you don’t like? Especially when you still can do it how you like, we’d like to too.

It’s kills world travel. You know, something that’s a huge part of old wow.

this.
it’s gross to even think about.
you’re turning the WORLD of warcraft into a lobby game like HotS or overwatch.

Yes but if the game makes it counterproductive to do it then there’s no reason to do it even if I find it more enjoyable.

No it doesn’t, lol, you still travel for many activities. Dungs are a spammable activity like BGs and those have teleport.

I know. I’m not sure why these people play the game.

lol

It’s sweet that you think Ion isn’t lying through his teeth.

No it doesn’t Ill be traveling all around doing dailies and raids. Do you plan on buying Northrend flight training? If so people cried for years on retail about how flight kills traveling. Do you plan to buy flight training in Wrath? Try harder.

If flying around the world is some thing you want to do, that’s some thing you can still do. Not every one finds the exact same things in WoW appealing as you. Amazing concept, I know.

It doesn’t matter if I can still walk to dungeons because Dungeon Finder makes it counterproductive to do so.

I can only assume that the devs listened to the vocal minority on social media and forums crying about “muh social fabric”, when most players just want to be able to log in and run some dungeons and get some gear without waiting around for an hour trying to find a group and get everyone to the dungeon. A lot of the Classic playerbase is older now, with jobs and families, meaning limited time to sit in Dalaran spamming “LFG”.

Was looking forward to WOLK Classic, but this one decision puts a huge damper on that.

It most definitely kills a large part of world travel.

Where as i and any one else in my boat (lots of them by the way) are not given an alternative we are forced to sit through what we did in TBCC and that is scan bulletin boards and spam people endlessly, no alternative.

I personally support blizzard on this decision.
