Dungeon finder, out of touch with the community

It doesn’t equal causation but it sure can imply it

Leaving Wrigleys out of it, there’s a pretty strong correlation between explosives and getting blown up I’d say. Then again, I’m no data scientist. I mean how do I really know anything? I’m no philosopher either. I better go check the wiki.

How did these same people get through 60 Classic and TBC Classic? Im not trying to be argumentative here but it does beg the question. LFD is a no nuance tool that makes grouping a lot easier - groups are nowhere near impossible without LFD but you cant help but imply that when you make a case that its borderline necessary for “these guys over here”. Theyre not the only people that play and enjoy the game.

I find it to be unfortunate and want it in there - I think it should be at launch but Id be content to wait if it went in with the ICC patch like actual Wrath - but thats more personal and thus biased on the grounds that I would really personally benefit from such a feature. Whether the game and community benefits as a result is an entirely different subject and question and there is some data that points to ‘no’.

I cant get angry about this even if I wanted too.

Hey, you paid attention one day in middle school, look at that! Wonder if the attention span made it through high school for a little “post hoc ergo propter hoc”. Try to ignore occam’s razor, you might not like it.

Now if I took a molotov cocktail and threw it at your house which then preceded to catch fire and burn to the ground, it is true that my throwing of said cocktail might not have caused your house to burn to the ground. It could have been bad wiring, lighting strikes, buried gas lines, someone inside developing flame based super-powers, heavily isolated solar flares. All kinds of stuff could have happened.

This isn’t simply stating A occurred and therefore result B happened without context. Many people (including myself) have listed plenty of reasons as to how random queueing for instances with people outside of your server has been detrimental to the social fabric of Warcraft. You may have wandered in late, but arguments against queue-based systems were a large part of the movement that led to Classic WoW. I am happy that you joined us for a while, and hopefully you got something out of it. But we’ll be damned to watch your drive for convenience end up with the same game we all quit years ago.

If you do not agree that random queueing for dungeons is detrimental to the game, well then boy do I have a game you may want to try out. It is called World of Warcraft, go have fun with it. Already free with your subscription. You get fox people and everything.

Just an average player here who came back to TBC a little late. All raid guilds have been filled and it’s difficult to find a social guild that meets my favor. LFG chat is consumed and spammed with Boost Sellers and is quite difficult to spot players LFG for dungeons. I was unaware of the Bulletin Board addon, as it’s not advertised anywhere and not many people talk about it in-game. With this said, it’s nearly impossible for me to find a group for ANYTHING at all, and therefore is incredibly disheartening to see the Dungeon Finder being excluded. This tool is perfect for players like me.

This is why I think blizzard would be mad to not roll out a fresh wrath along with its release for People in your position

I dont have time to spam chat! i want to log in, run my dungeons and not be wasting my time! Why cant we enjoy the game the way we want? If you ask me, it needs to be in TBC and classic also, its so stupid to waste so much time spamming trade.

Can I ask if you played classic wow?

You can play the game the way you want. It is already free with your subscription, World of Warcraft, check it out. You get fox people and everything.

I have toons on classic and tbc.

Did you play thru classic entirely?

The “No LFD” crowd has Classic and TBC. Cant you people just leave wrath out of it. What happened to the whole Nochanges philosophy, now all of a sudden its “Lets go screw up wrath with by removing LFD!” You got your game the way you want it, leave mine out of it.

Then stop trying to make them into the same thing.

If we are going by nochanges than you still don’t have LFD. Not until the last raid. Fine by me

Oh, but its ok the make Wrath the same thing with no LFD right?

They didn’t?
Yes of course there were people that played those two and muddled through the mess that is the LFG channel or perhaps they didn’t dungeon much and simply quested. I don’t know. But I do know that players are posting and stating they had difficulty and were waiting for Wrath.

But there are also those that played Era and TBCC without issue, reached 70 and hung it up. Again - waiting for Wrath. I am one of those people. I didn’t like TBC the first time around and tried to give it a go this redux and still couldn’t get into it. I had a guild (actually my character is still in that guild just dormant) and they are great. We did so much together as a team. But TBC isn’t my jam. I am planning (and they are aware and are cool with) a return for Wrath. I don’t need the dungeon finder to put together a group and enjoy a dungeon.

I’m not angry that it’s being removed but I’m not just concerned with my own enjoyment. I didn’t complain about TBC because I know others love it. I know other people have their way they like to play which includes that feature that is now being stripped from Wrath Classic. Not everyone plays one character and doesn’t alt or is able to be online when the population is highest or they play in a region/on a server with a small population. That’s just a sample of the kinds of players that feel they would benefit from the inclusion of the dungeon finder.

I apparently assumed that the company that wants to burnish their image and be welcoming of all would not take an action that seems to run contrary to that. Playstyles vary and are valid - just some more valid than others I guess. I just want people to be able to play the way they want just as I plan to do.

I guess we will have to wait and see…

Ion gave you a solution in the deep dive, if you want LFD retail is waiting for you

Inferring that people who didn’t want changes to vanilla somehow don’t want changes to warcraft anywhere along the path to retail is willfully ignorant or blatant stupidity. We quit retail because we don’t like what it became. We play classic because it isn’t retail, not to watch Blizzard steer the Titanic straight into the same iceberg they did last time.

And so if you dont want LFD, then dont use it, its Ignorance and stupidity just because you dont want it, is no reason to remove it. Get over yourself.
